This hardly seems like a fair poll. I don't recognize the majority of the people in the portraits. I do recognize about half of them to be of Aisan or Middle Eastern royalty which is hardly followed her in the west. And there are very few current portraits or portraits of current monarchs. {edited to remove who was voted for}

If you have a look at Page 1 you will find a little caption for every picture where you can read who is in the picture and when it was taken.

RubyPrincess: This is a very fair poll. This poll was set up so that we could give our members an opportunity to learn about and see some of the royals past and present in situations that we have not been able to see them in before. Or better yet, to give some of the non reigning houses a chance to participate in a poll. This poll was set up specifically so that there would be no "current" photos. The west is not the only place that follows royalty, and further more, we are an international board, and so all of our members should be accomodated.
It would be nice if you could take the time to enjoy the poll, and use it for what the intentions were, (IE to learn a bit more about global royalty) rather than carping on about what you do not find acceptable. On that note, you are also not meant to tell who you voted for, so I have edited your post accordingly.

I love seeing the older photos. We hardly ever see them in the United States, and it is a treat to see them. There should be a section devoted to older photos of each royal family.

A lovely set of pictures, I enjoyed every single one of them and choosing was very difficult!
Thanks to all who put time in it to put this great poll together!

I think the dignified and and friendly disposition of the Arab princesses in these portraits is most refreshing.

They were all AMAZING portraits. It was very, very difficult choosing. I really liked the one of Queen Margarethe because it is exactly the way I love seeing her--in those full, gorgeous gowns and the jewels. She's just stunning.
However, I especially enjoyed the portrait of Queen Sonja; she just took my breath way. Stunning.
They were all fantastic!

I didn't see Jordan's Queen Rania and Iran's ex-empress Soraya on the list.

This is a portrait poll, and we've tried to keep it as much as possible to some of the later portraits. That said, the PoM teams are free to choose photos of any royal that they like, as long as it fits the guidelines of the poll. However, each country, or in this case, each royal/princely/noble family is allowed to submit one photo for the poll.

Jordan is represented by Queen Noor and her late husband while the lovely Empress (then Queen) Farah and her husband represent Iran.
I have to say that I had a lot of fun researching for this poll. It was a great learning experience. I knew nothing about the Egyptian royal family before this and now find them absolutely fascinating, the women in particular.

Thank you everyone for your votes! It was truely great this poll to have all the other royal houses which are not usually in the running to enter a picture

Thanks for all your votes, but especially for those that
made our portrait of the Princely Family of Monaco win
the second place
It's really been a great poll with many wonderful pictures
from the past!

The pictures were all so stunning!
There were a lot I really loved!
The Danish Portrait of Queen Margrethe II always belonged to my favourites. It has the "Royal" touch in it. I wish the younger Royals would do Portraits like this , too. She looked stunning! Very "powerful" in a way.
Of course, I loved our Norwegian Picture of young Sonja . She was so pretty, beautiful and elegant. She already looked so professional in this photo; which was one of her first "Princess" -photos. I love the background too!
The Spanish Family picture is a true winner, too. It's so lovely to see all grandchildren with their happy grandparents! It has the "Aww"-effect.
This Portrait of the Empress of Austria is a true ledgend!
And: it was a great pleasure to see so many non-reigning and Arabian houses as well!

I really love that portrait of Queen Margrethe, however I'm more than a little disappointed that it won.
I had hoped that maybe we would see a non-European winner but I guess a lot of people just vote for their favourites.

I dont think many voted for their Fav royal house but the pictures that won were worth the win. Im not just saying this becasue I am a member of the Denamrk POM but QM's picture was powerful & to me was a winner.
My second Fav picture was Monaco's picture, beautiful & very sweet
