Princess Aiko was sick for three days started from Nov. 15. She started to get better on Nov. 18. She once has a fever during the period. Her mother Princess Masako was by her side on the 15th when Prince Naruhito went to the Imperial Residence to have dinner with the Emperor, Empress and Prince and Princess Akishino.

The Imperial women of Japan
It is hard to overstate the degree of change and turmoil in Japan's Imperial Household. Consider in the past year alone the Crown Prince has publicly apologised for standing up for his wife; Princess Nori just married a commoner; and the government is preparing legislation to allow female succession to the throne..........

Can someone tell me what I missed -- it says in the above post that CP Naruhito publicly apologized for standing up for his wife? When did he do that? I thought it was a wonderful demonstration of support when he did stand up for his wife and I hope he didn't completely retract his statement!

:) Congratulation with the birthday of Princess Aiko.

And very beautiful and nice picture with her parents Prince Naruhito and Princess Masako;)

( Thank you Mandy)

NATIONAL — Princess Aiko, the only child of Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, turned 4 years old on Thursday, with the Imperial Household Agency saying she is growing up healthily and enjoys catching insects and playing games.
The princess likes story-telling and exchanging simple letters with her mother and attending staff members, the agency said. She also enjoys watering vegetables and flowers in the garden of the Crown Prince's Palace, and the agency released photos of the princess picking tangerines and harvesting potatoes with her parents. Aiko, who will enter kindergarten in April, attends children activities twice a week at the National Children's Castle to interact with other children of her age

Yes, I agree with all of you -- Aiko is a beautiful child and very well loved from the look of her parents! Lovely photos, all.

She is such a mini-adult the way she stands folding her hands together just like her mother.

Thanks for the photos, everyone!

is it known when Princess Aiko will start in kindergarten?

Princess Masako did not participate in the celebrations in honor of her daughter and, although she accompanied to Aiko until the imperial enclosure, did not enter the dependencies of its fathers-in-law, then, according to she indicated Kyodo agency, she is observing a period of mourning by the death of its grandmother, Suzuko Egashira, the last year.
