Thank you for posting that article Mandyy. I appreciate your postings that keep us up to date on CPMasako. I find it sad that this capable woman has suffered from depression and that the current Empress also had struggles early on. To the extent that the way the Imperial Household runs is responsible for their challenges, I hope appropriate changes are being made. Thanks again.

Parts from a magazine cover this week named Shukanjosei featuring an article about Princess Masako.
Can someone who understand Japanese translate this for me please?
Thank you

This was the first official duty she performed by herself ever since Nov. 19 of 2003.

1 more from polfoto :
Polfoto 06-11-2005 Japanese Crown Princess Masako, right, talks with Hiroshi Ohashi, the chairman of a local child welfare facility as she attends its cultural festival in Tokyo, Sunday, Nov.6, 2005. With the Chrysanthemum Throne facing a severe succession crisis _ Japan's imperial family has not produced a male heir in 40 years _ a government panel agreed last month to propose allowing women to reign. Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako have one child, a 3-year-old daughter named Aiko.

Thanks for the new pictures of Princess Masako, mandyy and purple_platinum.It's great to see Princess Masako getting back to official duties though not oftenly yet.But she is a really smart and elegant Princess.I wish all the best for her health, and hope Japan can cahnge the law for Aiko to inherit the throne.

She looked really relaxed during that event. She looked good.
I wish that we could see more pictures of her the next days if ever she has any royal apperances.

It's really great to see her feeling confident enough to be out on her own again. Just a side observation, for a children's event, the officials surrounding her are all men, and some quite elderly. I'd expect to see more ladies sitting with her.

Good point. I'd expect to see some more ladies around her too.
But maybe some of those old guys around her are part of the 'dinosaurs club' that have given her trouble in the first place and they're trying to scare away any of CP Masako's well wishers. Who knows
I'm sure she has lots of fans that would absolutely love to see her and wish her the best (including me):p

Oh, yes! I completely agree HMQEII! She has so much to offer Japan -- I hope that she feels good about how this visit went.

I was hoping some of those men are family friends she feels comfortable with, to ease her transition back into public life.
