Does anyone have pictures of the outside of the Togu Palace? I'd be interested in seeing them or being referred to a link that has them. Thank you for any help.

The outside and inside of the Togu Palace.
The last Photo:Crown Prince Naruhito (L) and Princess Masako pose after moving into their newly remodelled Togu Palace home in Tokyo July 6, 1994. The palace was renovated at a cost of 380 million yen (US$3.8 million). Last edited by mandyy; 06-18-2005 at 12:50 PM. |

The Togu Palace when it was newly built in 1960 and the Emperor and empress (the then Crown Princely couple) moving in with their baby son Prince Naruhito.
I think you can see that there's a tennis court in the last aerial view pic of the palace. Last edited by mandyy; 06-18-2005 at 12:40 PM. |

Mandyy - Thank you for the pictures of the palace. I can now see where CP Naruhito has been greeting the foreign royalty that has come to visit. Apart from that, I am surprised at how stark the palace looks, and I have great respect for Japanese design.

Great job. I really enjoyed seeing closeups of the items used by the little princess. I wish the books about her were available in USA

Japanese Crown Prince Naruhito (L) poses for photographers with Nepalese Crown Prince Paras (2nd-L) and Crown Princess Himani at the entrance of the Togu Palace in Tokyo July 6, 2005. The Nepalese Crown Prince Paras is in Japan for a 10-day visit to attend the nation's National Day event at the World Expo in Aichi.

The first 2 photos was taken by the crown prince and princess of Princess Aiko in 2003.The first pic looks as if she wants to help clean up the garden of Togu Palace.
The third photo is from their visit to New Zealand and Australia in 2002 when Princess Masako was showing a photo that she took of the Crown prince and Princess Aiko wearing the clothing of the Japanese team in the 2002 World cup. She was showing this pic to this boy during their visit at the Starship Children's Hospital in Auckland, 16 December 2002 when this boy asked about her little daughter at the time. From a video about their visit, reporters visited this boy's home and ask of her impression of the crown princely couple. He also received a gift from them which I remember was a letter set. She also show this little boy of this last photo of the Princess learning to walk and said "Like you" in english because the little boy was also using an advice to help him walk.
