:previous: Always a treat to see this family together. CP Masako looks wonderful in that evening suit. The black and white pearls are gorgeous with it.:flowers:

The CP family visited a Botticelli exhibition on March 14th in Tokyo. (I thought I saw this reported earlier but can’t find it now. Mods - please move/edit it’s already posted elsewhere)

Crown Prince Naruhito, Crown Princess Masako and Princess Aiko visited a special Leonardo da Vinci exhibition at a museum in Tokyo today, April 5. The exhibition will be held until April 10 to mark the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Japan and Italy.

Surely a great exhibition, but on the photo it looks like the proud parents only had eyes for their daughter ;)

The Crown Prince's family visited the Emperor Showa Memorial Museum on Naruhito's grandfather, the late Emperor Showa, in Tokyo, on April 7, and had the chance to see cherry blossoms in the park surrounding the museum:

On April 3rd, the CP couple attended a ceremony Google translates as "the royal court Sandono Festival" within the Imperial Palace. For CP Masako, it was her first court ritual in 7 years.
Source: Sankei's Imperial weekly for 4/9

ETA: The ritual is related to the ceremonies marking the 2600th death of Emperor Jimmu and other Imperial family members attended, see Japan Times' article in English.

CP Naruhito and CP Masako expressed condolences to the victims of the April 14th earthquake.

There was a Gakushuin concert scheduled for April 17th where Princess Aiko and CP Naruhito were supposed to perform. Either the concert or the CP family's appearance was canceled in view of the earthquake damage. (The google translation of Sankei's article wasn't clear...)

Currently, CP Masako is expected at the spring garden party on April 27th and will walk the same route as the autumn garden party.

Also, I was confused in my previous post about Princess Aiko's school concert on the 17th. Turns out, she did perform but her parents' appearance was canceled.

CP Naruhito and CP Masako are tentatively scheduled to visit Iwate Prefecture in June to view the reconstruction progress.

According to Asahi reporter's twitter post (and google translated): "Today is the wedding anniversary of the Crown Prince and his wife. The night has been scheduled dinner that led to the Emperor and Empress and Prince Akishino and his wife at the Crown Prince's Palace. This has been the usual practice every year"

CP Masako is tentatively scheduled for 2 public service events in a 2-week span. Google translate is somewhat confusing.
  • "welfare of the green" in Chiba Prefecture on June 12
  • reconstruction inspection of Iwate Prefecture on June 20 (two days, 1 night)
The article points out that’s significant activity within 2 weeks in 13 years. The last time CP Masako had public service activities over 2 consecutive weeks was March 2003 ( “World Water Forum” and a Kyoto visit). To prepare for the visit, CP Naruhito and CP Masako will learn about the reconstruction efforts by the Permanent Secretary of the reconstruction agency.

Yes she has been busy recently and I hope that this is a sign that she is improving.

Prisma,
Thanks for the updates!:flowers::flowers::flowers:

It is nice that Crown Princess Masako is able to undertake engagements alongside Crown Prince Naruhito.

You're welcome! I'm very glad CP Masako is getting better.

The CP couple arrived at the Prefectural Kashiwanoha park of Kashiwa City, Chiba Prefecture in the morning. The opening ceremony was held at the gymnasium of the park and attended by 1400 people.

CP Naruhito's speech included (Google translation): sympathy to the people affected by the disaster in Kumamoto earthquake, protect clean water to as "precious green and source the green, a more new green in order to nurture is to understand the importance of a number of people, it has been stated that a wide range it is important to participate in the exercise."

The CP couple also participated in tree planting.

Thanks for the updates!
It is nice to see Crown Princely couple undertaking the engagements. The marching band performance was quite entertaining.

CP Naruhito and CP Masako visited Iwate Prefecture on June 20-21 to inspect the reconstruction efforts since the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011.

On June 20th, the CP couple arrived at Morioka station in the afternoon and were greeted by 800 people. They visited the town of Iwaizumi and were briefed on its recovery progress. 13 people died from the tsunami. Later, the couple arrived at their hotel in Miyako to learn about that city’s reconstruction from the mayor and governor.

On June 21st, the CP couple walked along the seawall of the Taro district of Miyako City, stopping to bow deeply and to pray for the souls of the victims. Taro district lost over 180 people. The couple also visited Jodogahama Beach Visitor Center of Miyako to encourage survivors. The center has been helping those living in temporary housing and disaster public housing.
