The King emphasizes joint commitment to eradicate the terrorism The King of Spain stood out today, in his first activity in Jordan where he came in visit of State, the 'solidary' commitment of Spanish and Jordanians, and of the respective Governments, to eradicate the 'unacceptable' blight of the terrorism. It was in the receipt that the Kings offered to a representation of them near thousand Spanish who live and are employed at this country of Close East, celebrated in the residence of the Spanish ambassador, Antonio Lopez Martínez. There, don Juan Carlos remembered the bloody attempts of Madrid and Amman, in March, 2004 and November, 2005 respectively, two dramatic dates in which Spanish and Jordanian ' we feel furthermore nearby some of others, joined by the horror and the pain caused by the terrorist barbarism '. Little before, and under an intense rain, Abdala and Rania of Jordan had received with familiarity and I affect the Kings of Spain, in the beginning of their visit of State of three days of duration to this small one, but strategic country. This visit of State is the first one that the Kings effect with Abdalá II in the Throne, since the previous one, almost twelve years ago, was during the reign of his father, Hussein. Al Humar's Palace, in Amman, was a stage in the middle of the evening of the affectionate meeting between both couples, who put of I demonstrate once again the narrow familiar bows that join to both Royal Houses. In February, 1999, when the whole Spanish Royal Family travelled to Amman to attend the funerales of Hussein, don Juan Carlos said that always he considered the Hashemite monarch to be his major brother and that from this day he would be ' the major brother ' of the King Abdala. At 16:05 p.m. (15,05 hours in Madrid), the plane of the Air Spanish Force in which the Kings travelled, close to an important managerial delegation, was landing in the airport Queen Allia of Amman. There, afoot from track, during a cold and cloudy evening, they were expected by the Prince Feisal, brother of the King Abdalá, and his wife Alia, and the ministers of Exteriors of both countries, Abdul Ilah Al Khatib and Miguel Angel Moratinos, who in the morning had signed a declaration that abounds in the narrow and friendly relations that exist between both countries. A document of ' good will ', since the Spanish diplomacy qualifies it, in that Jordan and Spain remember the world that ' opposite to the global threats to the world safety, since it is the case of the terrorism, it is vital to reinforce the international cooperation '. Joined in the determination of ' closing the doors to the intolerance and to the fanaticism ', anyone is its origin, both governments affirm will to work in favor of the Alliance of Civilizations, an initiative of the Chief of the Spanish executive, Jose Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, who has made United Nations. In Al Humar's Palace the official ceremony of welcome took place to the Kings of Spain, in which, under the rain, the national anthems were listened and in which the Hashemite Guard, to pace of paso doble, produced honors. Other members of the Jordanian Royal Family, as the Princess Muna, mother of Abdalá, or the Princes Ali and Hamzah, together with his wives, were also in the welcome. From yesterday, the principal avenues of Amman and the distance from the airport up to the center of the city are adorned by flags of both countries. After the first meeting deprived in the Palace Beit Al Urdum, don Juan Carlos decorated the King Abdala with the Necklace of Carlos III and to his wife, Rania, with the Great Cross of Carlos III. In other one of the Royal palaces, that of Baman, placed in the same enclosure that the previous ones and place where the Kings of Spain will lodge, Abdullah and Rania will offer this night a dinner of show, in which, since it establishes the protocol of the Hashemite Court, there will no be speeches. |

I have seen images of the dinner in television, there have come many members of the Jordanian Royal Family, and it seems that the Spanish journalists have remained a bit surprised with the absence of the Queen Noor, very friend of the Spanish Kings.

I love the contrast in colors and the way the evening gowns worn by the two Queens complement each other, so elegant!

I agree, I'm not a fan of the evening gown but I really like her black and white skirt suit.

hair was. It was obviously quite wet and windy in Amman and QR looked like her hair was in tangles and very messy. An elegant chignon would have been much nicer with that suit and probably better for the weather conditions too. |

Thank you all who posted all the pictures and articles. I have such great timing. I knew the state visit was about to begin sometime in late april so I had to take time out of the my vacation to check out TRF and Im so glad I did.
Queen Rania is looking so much fresher. I keep thinking about how tired she was looking a few weeks ago. She's looking so pretty and girly in these pictures. The evening gown is elegant and regal but I love her hair and makeup the best. I hope to see lots more pictures when I check back. |
