July 6th - Eid day

King, CP receive cables on Eid Al Fitr

Amman, July 5 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II received cables of good wishes from leaders of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr.

The leaders whished His Majesty continued good health and happiness and the Jordanian people further progress and prosperity.

The King received similar cables from the prime minister, the acting Senate president, president of the Judicial Council, Royal Court chief, president of the Constitutional Court, president of the Independent Elections Commission, the chief Justice, the Grand mufti of Jordan, the army chief and directors of the departments of intelligence, the public security, civil defense, the gendarmerie, and the Economic and Social Association of Retired Servicemen and Veterans (ESARSV) as well as other officials.

HRH Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah received similar cables from senior civil and military officials.

Amman, June 12 (Petra)-- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah chaired the annual Board of Trustees meeting of the National Council for Family Affairs (NCFA), on Monday, which discussed the Council’s past achievements and its future plans.

During the meeting, Her Majesty stressed the importance of activating the royally decreed Domestic Violence Protection Law.

Kuwait, June 13 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II and Amir of Kuwait His Highness Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Tuesday held talks focusing on cooperation between the two countries and the latest developments in the region.

Queen joins QRTA Pre-Service Student Teachers, Advanced Leadership Principals for Iftar

Amman, June 13 (Petra) – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah joined trainees and senior staff of the Queen Rania Teacher Academy (QRTA), on Tuesday, for an Iftar hosted by the Academy.

The Queen was welcomed by the CEO of the Academy, Mr. Haif Banayan, Minister of Education, Dr. Omar Razzaz, and President of the University of Jordan, Professor Azmi Mahafzah.

During the Iftar, Her Majesty met with teacher students of the Teacher Education Professional Diploma program (TEPD), principals of the Advanced Instructional Leadership Professional Diploma program, and trainers and senior staff of the Academy.

King orders raise of housing loan for military, security personnel

Amman, June 18 (Petra) –– Upon a directive by His Majesty King Abdullah, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces- Arab Army, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Lt. Gen. Mahmoud Freihat, asked concerned authorities and directorates to look into raising the military housing loan for officers, noncommissioned officers and personnel of the armed forces and the other security agencies.

Amman, June 18 (Petra) –– Five new ambassadors on Sunday took the oath before His Majesty King Abdullah II at a ceremony held at Al Husseiniyeh Palace.

Amman, May. 16 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II received congratulations from leaders of a number of Arab and Islamic countries on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

Those leaders expressed good wishes to King Abdullah and to the Jordanian people further progress and prosperity.
