Queen Rania visits Caritas Jordan activities in Ramadan.

Amman, June 14 (Petra) -- Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited programs run by Caritas Jordan in Jabal Al Weibdeh on Tuesday, including its community center, and the Restaurant of Mercy, which provides free Iftar meals to people in need.

Caritas is an international organization affiliated with the Catholic Church, tasked with handling its social and humanitarian work.

On her first stop at the Caritas Community Center, Queen Rania toured the facility and met staff and beneficiaries from Jordan, Syria, and Iraq.

Crown Prince participates in Charity Clothes Bank initiative

Amman, June 14 (Petra)-- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Tuesday, participated, along with volunteers, in the Charity Clothes Bank initiative, which is one of Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO)'s projects.

The Prince joined a number of young men and women, who represent academic, youth and civil institutions, in sorting and filling clothes, which will be distributed during the holy month of Ramadan, in order to meet the basic needs of poor families.

King holds talks with Palestinian president
Amman, June 15 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, held talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on ways to revive peacemaking efforts and the latest developments in the Middle East.

His Majesty emphasized Jordan's support to efforts designed to restart the peace process and to work with the various concerned parties to overcome difficulties blocking the re-launch of peace negotiations once again, based on the two-state solution.

King checks on conditions of two underprivileged families in Deir Alla
Deir Alla, June 27 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II made a surprise inspection visit to Um Ayyash Village in Deir Alla District in the Jordan Valley during which he checked on conditions of two underprivileged families that face health, economic and social problems.

The visit came within His Majesty's keenness to reach out to underprivileged families especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The King visited a five-member family that suffers from heart disease and lives in difficult conditions.

Crown Prince attends military drill
Amman, June 27 (Petra) -- His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II, on Monday, visited the command of the Joint Special Operations, where he joined servicemen for an iftar banquet and attended a military drill.

Upon arrival, the Crown Prince was welcomed King's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammad Zaben.

King visits border guards unit, joins its personnel for iftar

Amman, June 28 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Tuesday evening visited a border guards unit at the eastern front.

Upon arrival, King Abdullah was received by the King’s Military Adviser and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff and Gen. Mashal Al Zaben and Border Guards Commander.

His Majesty performed the Maghreb prayers and had iftar with the unit’s personnel.


Crown Prince takes part in two workshops

Amman, June 28 (Petra)--His Royal Highness Crown Prince Hussein Bin Abdullah joined on Tuesday, which marks his 22nd birthday, a group of youth and children in two interactive workshops that were organized within "Tahseen Initiative" at the Naour Youth Center.

The initiative, which was launched by the Crown Prince Foundation aims to protect young Jordanians against the dangers of addiction and smoking.

King visits Civil Status and Passports Department

Amman, June 29 (Petra)--His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday visited the Civil Status and Passport Department (CSPD) to check on progress of work and the level of services offered to citizens, mainly measures to acquire the smart civil identification cards.

During the visit, which coincides with the launch of the smart ID cards, the King was issued the smart ID card passing through the issuing process that saves citizens both time and effort.

His Majesty said that the smart ID cards should be issued for citizens away from bureaucracy and red tape, adding that the CSPD should also fully cooperate with citizens and provided them with needed help.

King stresses importance of Economic Policy Council in enhancing relation between public, private sectors

Amman, June 29 (Petra)-- His Majesty King Abdullah II, on Wednesday, stressed the importance of the Economic Policy Council in enhancing the relationship between the public and the private sectors, through working in a serious and transparent manner in developing economic policies.

Chairing the council's first meeting after its formation earlier this week, His Majesty said: "The time factor will work against us if we slowed down and didn't benefit from available opportunities, and therefore stalling should be avoided and solutions must be found, without agendas but serving the citizen and addressing poverty and unemployment , which is the interest of everyone who cares about the nation."

The video shows QR & princess Iman enjoying Iftar meal with some Orphan kids from Al Hussein Social Foundation. I love the moments of the queen & Iman serving & helping the kids with the Forks & knives. They all look happy.
