Maybe this was divine intervention. God himself had to steal the tableware from QR to keep her ego in check.

With Jordanian troop possibly being sent into Iraq:
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...id=540&ncid=716

perhaps the international nations will give KA and QR money for sending troops..

Well, now we know why QN probably doesn't care much for QR. Sorry, folks, I'm still fuming about this.

Yes, it's "easy" for KA to offer up so-called Jordanian support, when really he will hit up the wealthy nations for more money, take his cut, then give the crumbs to the Iraqis, making it look to them like some generous gift of the king.

Every single time KA and QR come to the US it's to ask for money and to think that - so much money is being spent on their personal pleasures is ridiculous... The thing about QR having her own jet - is understandable because as leaders they jet from place to place - but if they're just jetting to become famous or get more funds for their lavish lifestyles while Jordan is still really poor - then.......
Also, in the Vanity Fair article it is mentioned that QN used to be criticized because people felt she spent too much on jewelry.... I've seen QN wear the same dress over and over and over again....

QN, I think, has learned to be more discreet and more sensitive to the fact that she represents a poor nation. QR has yet to wake up to that realization.

Does QR even care about people in need? I hear in every article about her charity work but it seems like she wouldn't go into poor regions unless there was a huge camera in her face... did anyone ever see KA and QR on 60 minutes when some woman went up to QR and pulled her hair?

I think it's so shocking that P Haya is involved in a polygamist marriage because she's always touted herself as an independent woman and coming from a family where the men have one wife at a time - to suddenly marry a man with so many wives and a school full of kids... it's really surprising......

Oh God, QueenB, you noticed that, too? How long ago was that interview? It must've been four or five years ago now. I remember QR--trying to look like the humble do-gooder in her traditional Palestinian dress and long, simple, flowing hairstyle and driving herself and a reporter around in an SUV--getting her hair yanked by accident by some poor tribal woman in a village while the cameras were rolling. For just an instant, the phony smile disappeared and her true nature was revealed. She scowled and recoiled as though someone just dumped a bucket of wriggling snakes on her head. Yes, I saw it, and I remember it vividly. I think that is REALLY what QR thinks about people in desperate circumstances and is an insight into why it doesn't bother her in the least to spend fortunes on silly stuff for herself. It's as though she's completely amoral about it.

The story was on QR and the new queen.. she was meeting with Jordanians and they were handing her papers with suggestions or something and one woman as she was being pulled back grabbed onto QR's hair and had to be pulled off.. I wonder if Jordanians love her because in the stories on QN, people get emotional and hug her...

Yes papillon that's the show ..... She and KA were going on about their 'modern approach' and how the JRF has always interacted with the people.. I don't remember why the woman just suddenly grabbed onto her hair - but lately I haven't seen her 'amongst' the people unless it's a prepared photo op..

My recollection is that the woman was just trying to hug her or kiss her on the cheeks. It's commonly done in Jordan. But she accidentally caught one of her fingers in QR's flowing hair, so when she pulled away there was a minor yank that resulted in the QR histrionics. I thought I was probably the only viewing audience member who noticed the look that registered on QR's face. There QR was, trying to project this perfect image of the benevolent leader, but she totally screwed it up in the eyes of those of us who caught that moment with that one (albeit major) goof.

No. I figured it out. We've got it all wrong. Queen Rania was ordering the expensive place settings for the troops going into Iraq as a gesture of appreciation......She was probably sitting there one day, leafing through Dior's latest fashions and suddenly thought--"well, maybe this one time, I will buy one less dress and make sure our troops are properly served."
