Yes thats true. I also think, from the many interviews I have seen of her, she doesnt exactly have a very animated or bubbly personality. She's a dignified woman in her 50s who happens to be reserved at times. Infact I seem to recall her smiling broadly in many pictures of the reception. Its just not realistic to expect her to be jumping up with joy at her son's wedding.

I dont get all this talk about which table QN sat at Hamzah's wedding. She didnt necessarily have to sit with her son. I have seen pictures of other royal weddings and members of the family who are hosting the wedding dont always sit together but with their guests.
I also watched Prince Hamzah's wedding reception on tv and Queen Noor looked absolutely fine to me. She was smiling and talking to Queen Rania and others around her. I think its rather presumptous to say that she was ignored or upset. After all none of us can read her mind or guess what mood she was in just by looking at her.

well, I think most of us have watched her int to LK, and she was so serene, self- assured, maybe a bit too diplomatic when asked about KA and her son's stripping of the title by his half- brother, but that's understandable- I watched her on TV in other occasions and she was bubbly, even though her husband had died only a few months be4e- I think she loked very upset at Hamzah's wedding, but that's only my opinion, indeed it looked the mother of the groom was QR, not QN, just as it happened when both Hamzah and then Hashim grad at Sandhurst Royal Academy, she also looked neglected and sad, even ignored by her sons. PS- I don't think she has a good relationship with her eldest son, he did ignore her at his own wedding, maybe I'm thinking so as the bride and the groom's mums are very important at the wed ceremony and reception ,in my country. Is it the same in Jordan ?

they looked very close at 1999 Pan- Arab Games in Jordan, she was sitting next to Feisal, and they laughed and chatted all the time, all the others were not talking to QN, but Queen Dina and Feisal,- the youngest of the family, Iman, Raiyah, Hamzah, Hashim and Ali were sitting in the second or third row. Don't know if Feisal and QN are still close, nowadays, though.

Whereas QN is only half Arab and many chosen only to remember that she is U.S born and not her achievements over the course of nearly 1/4 Century.

This to a certain degree would efect the duties that she would undertake. Not that you are unaware of this. There have also been projects of hers qhich QR inherited that she failed to continue ie The Kingn Hussein Foundation. Although it was hers to begin with after a while she was told that she had to relinquish it amongst other things. Therefore QN has rom what I've seen has had to redefine her position and persuits. Dispite her distinguished service to Jordan, there have been many a time where it has been a thing of in wit the new and out with old.

Therefore as that has been the case what would one do? Indeed she has made speeches that have angerred some. An interview of her was upon this subject. Her repply was that since becoming Queen, although many have been aware of her background, many in the West have treated her abominably. Maybe this has been the reason for some of her less liked speeches, with regard to the 'East v West' situation. Also with age I think she has had time to re-examine her stance upon many subjects. Her present and distant past experiences, I believe have significantly influenced her decisions.This also would account (I only make a supposition :) ) for her 'about face' speaches. Having said that, someone could disagree with me.:)

I once read in a Forum the message about JRF by a Jordanian guy in which he complained about the fact that QN was always talking of US as " her own country " though she was interviewed as Queen of Jordan- if that's true, that was and is a very great mistake by her.........

I've never heard her talking like THIS...thats really unbelieveable - she always talks about the arab world and jordan as her home country - and her base.

I dun know if nobody talked with her - because I havent been there with them!

it is the same in jordan - as far as I know from sunna - the mother is very very important!shes one of the three important things or should be for a muslime...

If they looked upset maybe they were just moved (rather than upset) by the whole situation, giving their daughter away....

I agree , I always notice that the family of the bride dosn't look happey in thier daughter or sister wedding , I remamber one of my frind who said to me that in the night of their sister wedding they come back at hom and cry all the night :( , I hearde many stories like that , so I can understand whay the parents of P.Noor looked unhappy .

Interesting can someone post the link please? I heard that Susan Finstead is writing a book as well, i heard about this in 1999 but it's not been published yet!!!!

As for her not being in Jordan as much. Maybe the country has too many painful memories for her now that KH is dead? Who knows - however i don't believe that she has been 'pushed' out so to speak.

That book is on hold indefinitely. Ms. Finstad wrote about it in "People" in 1999 but, since then, there was no mention so I did some digging and found out it had been shelved. That's a shame because she's a very good, respected author who had done extensive research up to that point. Why it's not being published is anyone's guess. Perhaps because QN's book came out at the same time...... I think it would have filled in some of the holes in QN's autobiography and was really looking forward to it.

I agree; QN was almost hyper-sensitive about stating Jordan was her "home" and how she'd never really felt comfortable with her name-Lisa, her life in the US as opposed to her life in the ME, and
