Lovely pictures, Paulette. :flower:
The dress Queen Noor is wearing looks a lot like the one she wore to her son Hamzah's wedding. Did the Queen comment on her son's engagement/wedding at all during her book tour in Madrid? And does anyone know if the Queen will be paying a private visit to the Spanish royals? Queen Noor and Queen Sofia are quite close, I believe. |

I'm curious about Queen Noor's relationships with her stepkids - can anyone give me some insight? Are they close, are there any she doesn't get along with? She raised Abir, Haya and Ali as her own correct? I was surprised that Haya doesn't have anything about Noor on her site, or if she did I missed it.

'LEAP OF FAITH' BRINGS QUEEN NOOR TO MADRID 18 SEPTEMBER 2003 Queen Noor of Jordan was warmly received in Madrid this week as she presented her new book, Leap Of Faith: Memoirs Of An Unexpected Life. In the book she reveals the details of her life with King Hussein, from their first chance meeting in 1976 until his death from cancer many years later. The work also tells of her experiences as an American woman adjusting to life in the Middle East. And light is cast on some of the region's key political players, including Yasser Arafat and Saddam Hussein, as the king tries to broker peace. The queen, 52, has been taking an increasingly high-profile role in international affairs in recent years. Hailing from a prominent Arab-American family, she was educated at Princeton University, before marrying King Hussein in 1978. Since then, she has used her position to promote women's rights and the work of the United Nations. She is also head of the Noor Al Hussein Foundation, which campaigns to improve living conditions for the people of her country. |

Did you get to the part where she accuses the Jews of running Hollywood and/or the US govt? Let me know.

as much as I love QN, I must say her book is cosugareted, just so many lies, she even denies what every1 knows, as her hubby falling in love with his PR , back in '92- I saw a pic of QN in London, it was taken in '92, she was crying, she escaped there to give KH time to think it over- and what about all the lies about her relationships with her step- children, expecially Ali and Hayah, the only 1 who's close to her is Feisal- I was really disappointed while reading it, though I knew in advance she could write down the truth,-

she does not live in Jordan, she rarely visit it, as QR and KA don't want her in the country, I heard they think there's no space for 2 Queens in Jordan- she is now living in NY.

I hadn't heard the info about Noor not being close to Haya and Ali. What's the story behind their relationships?

As for there not being room for two queens in Jordan, there are many countries for which that is the very case, Belgium, Great Britain, Denmark among them. The "first" queen probably doesn't assume as many responsibilties as the reigning queen. I don't think it's fair to erase altogether Queen Noor as if she doesn't exist. |

QN has unfortunately very bad relationships with her step- children, all but Abir and Feisal- when Hayah gave an int , back in 99, she referred to Noor as- my father's widow- in fact, Noor and her 4 kids were not present at KA's coronation as KA had promised his father that Rania would not be a Queen and the only Queen would always be Noor- her relationships with Hayah and Ali are so bad, something happened when they were kids, it was Q Zein who raised them, not QN- anyway, they had a fall- out at the hospital, while KH was dying , and afterwards when Noor, as her step- children say- took it all- money, houses around the world for her and her kids, don't know if it's true- KA told the Press that whenever QN was on the news, she had not to be put on the homepage, but inside, a small article and no pix- Noor never goes to Jordan these days, if it's not important, P Mohammed asked her to spend more time in Jordan as ppl start to gossip about this-

I don't remember the part in the book about QN talking about her relationship to the King in '92. I remember hearing that he was having an affair w/ a journalist or some young woman, but I also didn't think that she would write about that in her book. I also know that she was really aweful to both Haya and Ali and that she isolated them from their father. Noor just wanted the King to be the father to her 4 children.
I remember hearing that QN would plan family vacation trips w/ her 4 children and the king but leave Haya, Abir and Ali w/ a nanny at home. Really sad. Also I heard that the king gave the bulk of the $$$$$$ to QNoor and their 4 kids. We're not sure that it was really him who signed on it, but it was during the time when he was dieing in the hospital--so it believed that QN was the one who orchestrated the $$$ part. Also QRania gets an allowance/salary from the country--I think it's about $200,000 a year. She can do whatever she wants with the money--I think that's where she pays for her clothes. They really don't have as much money as Prince Hamzah, hashim, Princesses raya and iman do. It doesn't surprise me though that KA and QR have asked that QN not have a strong presence in Jordan. Even though she did A LOT of GREAT things for the country she really was not a good step mother to the kids especially for Haya, Abir and Ali because they had JUST lost their mother. |
