QA is Jordan's most beautiful Queen; none of KH's wives could top her, never. She had this beautiful smiley happy eyes that she inherited to Haya. She also had longish check dimples, makes her face even more gorgeous, may she rest in peace.
I posted some of the pictures from Haya's site in QA's picture thread, I couldn't upload them from QA's site, but her photo as young child is included.

I wanted to remember the days I was in Aqaba and Haya was born, she was a little older and then Ali and I remember I had a lot of affection for them. I remember this little phrase that Ali told me when he was tiny and in the evening they had to go to bed and go to sleep and I told him he had to go to bed, he would look at me and said "naughty Aunty Farah, go to bed!"

Aww I thought this was very cute ...
So he has this sense of humor since early childhood, I can imagine his pretty little face crunching and yelling: "naughty Aunt Farah! CUTE! I feel that he is a bit sarcastic too, in a good way.

from Jordan times

Today marks the 29th anniversary of the death of Her Majesty Queen
Alia, who passed away on Feb. 9, 1977. The late Queen, born in Cairo
in December 1948, died in a helicopter crash while returning from an
inspection trip to Tafileh Hospital in southern Jordan. Queen Alia,
born Alia Baha Uddin Toukan, married King Hussein in 1971. They had
two children: Their Royal Highnesses Princess Haya and Prince Ali.
In 1972, they adopted Abir Moheisen. Active in charity and social
work, the late Queen represented Jordanian women at many
international conferences, serving as a model for Arab women,
supporting Arab women's causes and their participation in socio-
economic development. In memory of Queen Alia, Princess Haya set up
the Umm Ali shelter, which provides assistance to underprivileged

And there does not come a moment when I do not look into the sky or indeed at anything beautiful and am not reminded of him whom I loved most in life and find a joy in the knowledge that .....he is finally reunited with Her whom I loved most

What has always impressed me about Queen Alia is how she made such a wonderful, lasting impression on such a diverse range of people. She's mentioned in the autobiographies of Barbara Bush, Betty Ford, Jehan Sadat, Margaret Trudeau and I'm sure others I don't know about and all said essentially the same thing: That she uplifted their spirits with her genuine kindness and empathy and sensitivity. The fact she was able--at a comparatively young age--to relate so well and so easily to so many says so much about her. I was very grateful when the website dedicated to her was created and her mother, brother and others shared their memories of her. I can't remember which lady of those I cited described her as a "graceful presence" but I think it's a fair observation. It was also very telling when I read that her former co-workers in NYC upon hearing of her marriage, pooled their money to call her and wish her their best. The story one of her brothers tells of her always bringing home people having troubles in an effort to cheer them up was endearing. What a special, kind, and, yes, graceful, gracious lady!

30th Death Anniversary

Friends, today is the 30th Death anniversary of the Late Queen Alia. While Jordan remembers and misses the Majestic Queen, let us not forget how Abir, Haya and Ali still feel a vacant spot in their lives and Mrs. Hanan's (mother of Queen Alia) heart wrenching grief.

I thought about that this morning when I saw the date of Feb.9. Thirty years ago-Alia has been dead longer than she was alive. I am sure her family misses her still. It must also be in some way consolation to them that she is still remembered, not only in Jordan but around the world, for her beauty and kindness and the many ways she tried to help her fellow citizens. Rest in peace.

Sad but true

Has anyone noticed that although QA is very loving, she is discriminating between her natural children and Abir. You can judge by seeing her several photos with the children that she is always hugging Haya and Ali and poor Abir is standing behind or sitting a little away.

I dont think so, actually i thought she was with abir more close bcause theres great pictures of her holding abir and very close to her even after she had her own childrens. also just fact that she cared so much about abir to adopt her while, i think, she was expecting haya says a lot.

JMO, but any woman who adopts a child has demonstrated a great degree of love to begin with.

Thanks to everyone for all these wonderful photographs and stories of King Hussein and especially of Queen Alia. a truly wonderful queen. Pity we have heard so little of her life and works over the years since her death.
Thanks to Princess Haya for creating the website in honour of her mother. Princess Haya looks so much like her beautiful mother.
Just one question, does anyone know what happened to Ibir, the little girl adopted by King Hussein and Queen Alia?
Thanks in advance

Queen Alia was a beautiful woman, and seemed to be loving and caring as well. It is a shame that she died so young. However, she does have three accomplished children.

she did have 3 childrens, i think that in islam adopted are to be same as blood childs, but that probly happens naturaly. i doubt they would have adopted abir if theres no conections and Queen Alia i belive was said to have strong feeling with abir.
