well its not bad thing to have western look comparing to the Jordanian , i mean for Hashim his mother is American and he looks like her what’s the wrong with that , he didn't take his father’s look , i watch movies a lot and i just think Hashim looks like the Americans , so when he wear Deshdasheh he looks like a foreign tourist wearing the traditional clothes for Jordanian ,

ho I totally agree - there are many blond arabs - like many dark haired germans and so on.

it matters what he feels inside.
he seems very similiar to his mother - she was that interested in the arab world and *feeled* more like an arab - even if she grew up in america.
and he seems the same... :)

I agree Hamzah has more Arabic features than Hashim Does.

About Rym,I agree with u Suria, she needs to take more care of herself,I was shocked to see her like that...

so you think that Al Qurashyeen were blond , with blue eyes like KA , i don't think so , they only looks like this because they have foreign mothers , the prophet had a white skin with black hair , and black eyes , i hope to meet him in Heaven (may the peace and the mercy be upon him )

Rym i don't know , i feel strange about PA why he doesn't ask his wife to look better , i mean i can't believe that he likes the way of Rym appearance

lol No! not ayam sayedna mohammad,I mean in 1800's,lol,not blue eyes, but blond thick beards, fair complexion, tall, and wide shoulders, lol, though thinknig about it they probably had a rather dark complexion due to the hot weather there, but khalas it's just an image I have in my head,LOL

Anyway,Maybe Ali doesn't care about the looks,he thinks inner beauty what really matters ,or maybe Rym doesn't have time to take care of herself with takin care of Jalilah?

U never know..

I think prince ali would tell her - if he does not like her the way she is.
but maybe he loves her the way she is?!
i dun think it is thaaaaaat bad - maybe its not a real princes style but....
yeah clothes makes the human being...
I dun believe in that.
clothes are not the most important.
so many people say - queen ranja is only buying clothes.
then theres a princess that wears normal clothes and normal style...
and many scream how can she look like this.

I have to say that neither Prince Ghazi nor Prince Hashim appear to wear correct Hashemite dress. From pictures I remember of King Hussein and Prince Hassan, and I think, King Abdullah, they wear a much more formal outfit. Dark clothes that cover the dishasha. When I lived inJordan it was explained to me that the dishdasha was an under garment and that gentlemen wore a long robe over a dishdasha, and also a small jacket and then finally an abaya over that. A dishdasha with a suit jacket in not correct formal wear, certainly not for a Hashemite Prince. I would have thought that Opening of Parliament was an appropriate time to wear the more formal version of the dress. I think he looks most inappropriate.

because I am not from Jordan for sure I don't know the formal version of the traditional jordanian dress , but I agree that it is the best version to wear in event ( Opening of Parliament ) , but what I am sure of that he don't look like some one from Dubai or Saudi Arabia ( it is just my opinion ) and I think also he is not the first one in the jordan royle family who like to wear this kind of clothes .

Okay, lets put things strait:
Prince Hashim is from the Arabic nation, he is an Arab Prince, (and a hot one at that) Even his "western" mother is half Arabic (remember her father is/was Syrian) He does look the most unarabic of Hussein's sons, (not that Arabic is bad, but he doesn't look like the average Arab, most Arabs have Dark features, and most Germans do not have olive coloured skin) I find it admirable, even though I am not a muslim, that he wears at formal occasions traditional Arab dress.

As for PRym, it happens to many ladies after birth that they let themselves go, it's a shame really!

p.s. My mom is Swiss, my dad British and I have Jet black hair, and dark brown eyes and slightly olive skin, apparantly inherited from my Gramps, so I am a total European, and in London people ask me if I am Spanish or Italian! it just shows...

It's called Abaya, and it's very formal, they wear those in formal ocassions and special ocassions,if u noticed in one of the pics Hashim was carrying smthing black on his arm, he wore it after he went inside look at the pic when he first arrived and then to the other pic when he was standing next to prince Faisal and KA in the group pic.

Hi suria,

America's population is made up of people, who hold various different ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds. The 2000 census (in regards to the racial demographics of the former country), proves the prior fact to the largest extent. From what I've been taught at school, presently about (or over) 50% of the total amount of people who live within the US, are not (labelled as) "white" at all. I myself am not "white," but I still consider myself to be a Westerner because I was born and raised in Canada. I think that it's best to say that Hashim holds an especially "North-western European" look (origin or descent wise), as opposed to a "Western" or "American" one. Also, many North American/Hollywood TV shows and movies (as well as those from various different regions around the world), are (and have always been) completely unrealistic when it comes to representing the actual ethnic, cultural and religious diversity (through populous) of their or any given territory in general.

Very true. I know a couple of Algerian and Lebanese people (on an ethnic basis), who have reddish brown hair and very pale skin. At the same time I had an acquaintance in high school who was of Italian descent and extremely dark (hair and skin tone wise). Similarly, certain people seem to mistaken me for being Spanish more times than others, while my mom's been thought of as Italian or Japanese (but I personally don't see it - the latter that is).

I agree, I was about to say the exact same thing. But I partly share auntie's opinion in reference to the idea, that Rym's first pregnancy/baby is probably partially (if not totally) affecting the way that she currently dresses. It may be similar for her husband, but I wouldn't know. The same could be said for any man or woman out there in general.

Actually Noor's paternal grandfather was a Syrian of Lebanese descent, which would make her 1/4 Lebanese and 1/2 Swedish from her mother's side (background wise). She also has some Scottish and English roots, which are probably derived from the origins of her paternal grandmother.

I have looked at the picture and yes, he is wearing an abaya later on, but I am sure that that correct formal Hashemite dress has at least another layer of clothing between the dishdasha and the abaya. I never saw his father wear anything different. he is dressed in the nammer of the Saudis and the Gulf States .

well , it was a comment , i know that Americans came from different cultures , here in Jordan if you walk in the mid town and saw a guy like Hashim wearing Deshdasheh , Jordanians will think that he is a tourist wearing traditional clothes , that’s all , about QN come on nothing in her like Arabs , and Hashim is a copy of his mother , and this is not wrong its Genies :p

you can't compare him to the Gulf princes he is totally different ...

about Rym , i don't know she is simple i know and has simple smile , am not saying that she should be like Rania spending her life and money on plastic surgeries and clothes , but she should wear something more proper to her position , well if PA likes her this way then i like her this way , what ever PA says
