The horse walks in the funeral cortege with boots put backwards through the stirrups. Its an old military tradition - rather a beautiful and moving one :(

I arrived in Jordan shortly after this period and fully expected to see a war torn town, but actually, there was not so much destruction visiable to the layman. I asked ( foreigners, who were there before, during and after the crisis) and about the 'thousands' who were killed and was told that it was more in the hundreds , and were not only Palestinians but that there were all sorts of anarchists and terrorists of many nationalities : German Baader Meinhof, Japanese Red Army and IRA

. They also said that there were Palestinians in the Jordanian army who fought side by side with their Jordanian colleagues because it was a fight of right against wrong, extreme against moderate, not so much Jordanian/Palestinian.

I do not know the reason why Princess Muna left Jordan during this period, but yes, she, and her children, and Princess Firyal ( then the wife of Prince Mohammed ) and her children, and a very few other women of the JRF left the country for the duration of the troubles, but I believe most of them stayed. These last included the Queen Mother Zein, Princess Basma, Princess Sarvath, and various aunts and cousins. My source was keen to point out that Princess Majda, the Swedish wife of Prince Raad stayed as well. It is perhaps no coincidence that both Princess Muna and Princess Firyal's marriages came to an end shortly afterwards, which leads me to think that their absence was their own choice and not one imposed on them by their husbands, and perhaps not well regarded ?

You've got a really good point. If I was in that situation I would stay by my man through thick and thin. Sure I would probably send the kids away, but not too far-at least not as far as London. WHen I look at that pic of PMuna in London dressed to the nines, I always shake my head. But it teaches me to always stay by my man-no matter what.

Are there any pics of Princess Majda?

it's Hamzah, - I saw QA's mum in Ali's wed pix- anyway, I had a pic of Hayah shopping with her grandmother in Rome, i'll try to find it, don't know if I can, it's quite old, a few years back.

yes I think she is P Hayah but I can't recognize the boys there are 3 boys front of her maybe the tallest boy is Ali and he have more dark skin , what are you think ?
and maybe the other bridesmaids are bride sisters ( maybe )
the pictures not very good I tried to do zoom in on the picture but the result not very good .
and where is Abear ? and who is the boy who don't smile and he is between the woman that wear blue dress and man with traditional clothes , there are a lot of question in my mind

houri, the 3 kids wearing pale blue suits and a tie, are Hamzah, Hashim and Rashid- Hayah is the 1 next to Hashim, Abir is the bridemaid behind Feisal, in the last row, I recognized Aisha and next to her ,maybe, Ali, who's wearing a keffiah, or something like that- no Abdullah, though, or Zein...... of course, I may be wrong, as for the 3 kids I'm sure, for the others, don't know who they are-

don't know, really, but I heard QA had no sis, maybe a cousin or a nephew of QA, as QA would be 57 now. this Lady must be 40ish......:)

Princess Alia Feisal's bridesmaids were Princesses Haya, Badiya, Iman and Raiyah and Abir Muheisan. The three younger boys in the front are Rashid, Hamzah and Hashim. The young man uniform is I think Prince Ali and the boy who is not smiling is I think Ghazi Dagestani.

The blonde lady is Queen Alia's aunt, her mother's much younger sister. She looked very similar to Queen Alia and her name is Nawar Jabi.
