Why is adoption forbidden? Didn't King Hussein adopt a child in the 1970's?

The concept of adoption or foster parenting is not forbidden. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was adopted by his grandfather and uncle and he himself adopted a son.
What is not allowed is to change a foster child's name to your own and or hide and deny his/her biological parents. That can result in legal implications, for example, depriving the child of his/her rightful inheritance among other things.

So yes, adoption, bringing up an orphan or less fortunate child as your own is not only allowed but encouraged (but not necessarily in the way it is carried out in the west)
The Bruneian royals are very religious and the Sultan has a slew of adopted children, including african orphans, as well as adopted siblings.

Do the children of P Alia, P Aisha and P Zein hold HRH titles? Would their children inherit a title from their mother, because they are of royal blood or would they take their "status" from their fathers?

I understand that their husbands didn't become Princes upon marriage.

I dont know if this has been brought up before, according to the official Hashemite family tree, Princess Zein has an adopted child named Tahani al-Shahwan. Does anyone know more about him/her and the circumstances surrounding the adoption?
