Was the presidential residence Castelporziano near Rome ever a royal home? I can't find much about its history. It does look like a very interesting building.

The estate was owned by the Kings of Italy though not sure about the main residence, it was transferred to the Italian Republic after the the monarchy was deposed.

It's certainly an imposing size. Very picturesque in its irregularity.

What a lovely place. Thank you.:flowers:

The Rocca dei Borgia castle is in Camerino, in Marche, Italy. It was built for Cesare Borgia.

The Castle of Moncalieri is in Moncalieri (Turin), Piedmont, Kingdom of Sardinia.

The Ducal Palace of Modena is located in Modena, Italy. It was the residence of the Este Dukes of Modena from 1452 to 1859.

When Tuscany passed from the House of Habsburg-Lorraine to the House of Savoy in 1860, the Palazzo Pitti was included. After the Risorgimento, when Florence was briefly the capital of the Kingdom of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II resided in the palazzo until 1871. His grandson, Victor Emmanuel III, presented the palazzo to the nation in 1919.
