Hello,
I am looking for information about Amadeo, Duke of Aosta, after he abdicated from the Spanish throne. Any help would be great.

After the abdication in 1873, Amedeo, his wife Maria Vittoria and their three children (Emanuele Filiberto, Vittorio Emanuele and Luigi Amedeo) returned in Italy and set in Turin at Palazzo della Cisterna, the seat of Maria Vittoria's family that she had inherited from her father.
Princess Maria Vittoria died three years later, on 8 November 1876, aged 30.
Amedeo continued living quietly in Turin; on 11 September 1888 he married secondly to Princess Maria Letizia Bonaparte; the marriage caused a great scandal, because the groom was 22 years older than the bride and most of all because Amedeo was Letizia's uncle (being she the daughter of Amedeo's eldest sister, Maria Clotilde). They had a son together, Prince Umberto, Count of Salemi, born in 1889.
The following year Amedeo died of pneumonia, on 18 January 1890, aged 44.

AFAIK, neither Maria Vittoria nor her children ever set foot in Spain during Amedeo's reign.

The country was considered much too dangerous and the family stayed in Italy.

No, they all went in Spain; their youngest son, Luigi Amedeo, was born there in January 1873, a few days before the abdication.

For his second marriage before Prince Amedeo married Princess Maria Letizia, the appropriate papal dispensation was obtained. However, Pope Leo XIII declared that such dispensations were, from that time on, strictly a thing of the past.
