As far as I know, Lapo is currently a member of the Elkann and Agnelli family, none of which is princely neither aristochratic, although their members achieved many accomplishments and are very popular. Some members of those families actually married some aristochrats in the past, but no title has been passed on to the Elkann and Agnelli families via this way, as far as I know. I am very interested in this new angle of which I am unaware.

Late Senator Gianni Agnelli was Umberto's eldest brother ( if I''m not mistaken there were 5 or 6 of them), so Gianni, who was also the President of Italy's biggest car industry, was John Philipp Elkann's grandfather. John is the son of Margherita, Gianni's daughter, and of French writer Alain Elkann.
Margherita and Alain have two other children: Lapo and Ginevra.
After divorcing Alain, Margherita married a Russian aristocrat, whom she has another five children with.

John Philipp Elkann and his siblings Lapo and Ginevra are descendant of a Neapolitan princely family named Caracciolo. Their grand-mother is Donna (Lady) Marella Caracciolo, whilst their aunt Donna Allegra Caracciolo, the widow of Umberto, Gianni's brother, is Marella's cousin. A bit confusing, isn't it?

JP's great-great grand-father, whose name was also Giovanni (Gianni is a pet name for it), received a title of nobility by the then King, but he always wanted to be called Senator. His grand-son Gianni also didn't used it, and preferred to be called "lawyer", while Umberto was usually referred as the "engineer". None of them has ever used noble titles.

is it possible for someone to post the Vanity Fair article of Lapo Elkann. i just discoverd who he is and now i'm finding myself wanting to know as much as i can about him and his family.
who is he dating? everytime i see him he is with a new beautiful girl.

i read a few years ago, i think in VF about john elkan and lavinia when they were young and just stared dating. i'm happy to see they got married. i remember the article mentioned something about Gianni's son whom was said to be a drunk and a drug addict and commited suicide by jumping off the side of a hill. does anyone know more about this guy?
