Now that is nice and in the spirit of the event. Let's hope that the houses of Savoy will be able to work out a simular agreement in the future. Who is seated next to her? A prince of Yugoslavia?

The situation of the Royal House of Two Sicilies can't be compared with that of the Royal House of Savoy I suppose.
Prince Serge of Yougoslavia was one of the few Royals present at the event who spoke more with Prince Emanuele Filiberto's wife Clotilde Courau.

Some more photos from the beatification:
Close up of the programme ~ Inside the Cathedral ~ Member of the public with posters ~ The Princess of Venice, Prince Serge of Yugoslavia, the Duke and Duchess of Aosta and Princess Maria Gabriela of Savoy ~ Venice, Yugoslavia, Aosta and Savoy 2 ~ The Duke and Duchess of Castro, the Duke and Duchess of Noto, the Duchess of Calabria and the Princess of Venice ~ The Princess of Venice and Prince Serge of Yugoslavia ~ Archduchess Beatrice of Austria-Este ~ The Duchess of Castro and one of her daughters ~ Woman looks at a tomb in the Cathedral

According to Noblesse and Royautes, more than 2000 people went to and near the beatification. Here are some extra photos of the dinner:
Princess Maria Gabriela of Savoy and other guests ~ The Duchess of Noto, the Duke of Castro, Princess Anne of France, the Duke of Capua and the Duchess of Castro ~ The Duchess of Castro (to her left is the Duke of Braganza and Princess Beatrice of Bourbon-Two Sicilies

I noticed that sites are now starting to call Princesses Maria Carolina and Maria Chiara the Duchess of Palermo and the Duchess of Capri, have these titles been confirmed as official ones by the House of Bourbon-Two Sicilies? Or are they new titles that were granted to the princesses at the beatification ceremony? I'm asking as I have never heard them being referred to as such.

The Princesses Maria Carolina and Chiara were referred to as Duchesses of Palermo and Capri, respectively, in the reconciliation agreement.
You can find a translation of the said agreement here:

Thank you for the reply and link. So they haven't held the titles from birth, like I assumed.

Even HRH Prince Giacomo (Jaime) of Bourbon-Two Siciles has his title of Duke of Capua recognized by all with this occasion.

The site of the Constantinian Order of St. George has published the scans of the Act of Reconciliation:
http://www.constantinianorder.org/do...on-firmada.pdf
Also two press releases by the Duke of Noto and the Duke of Castro were released, reiterating that the Act of Reconciliation doesn't contain any mention to the dispute over the Headship of the Royal Family:

Maria Sophie (1841-1925), Queen of the Two Sicilies and her husband, King Francis II of the Two Sicilies, took refuge in the coastal fortress of Gaeta.
They were besieged by Victor Emmanuel II.
Maria Sophie fought tirelessly to keep up the spirits of the defenders.
She received the nickname of Warrior-Queen.
The fortress fell. Francis II and Maria Sophie were exiled to Rome.

Does anyone know what/who brought about the reconciliation?

The younger-generation 'Heads' of the two rival branches themselves, the Duke of Noto, and the Duke of Castro, with the support of their immediate families.

Warren, Thank you for the details of the rivalry.
It was interesting to learn about the history of the Act of Cannes.
The article mentioned:

This (the document) was hastily drawn up and signed on December 14, 1900 and was the catalyst leading to the division within the family.

Would it have been better if more time had been involved to prepare the document?

I don't know if spending more time in preparing the Act of Cannes would have changed the situation, but surely a different wording of the Act would have made things quite different. But this is something we can see and say in retrospect, I don't think that when the Act was written and signed they could foresee its implications 60 years later.

MAfan, I agree. A different wording of the Act of Cannes would have made things different.
