Thanks for all the pics Iceflower!:flowers:
I wonder too about their plans to settle in Italy.
A few months ago, I saw an interview to Clotilde on a show called "La vita in diretta".
They asked her: "When will you move to Italy?" , and she answered "mai", that means "never". It was funny because they had asked the same question to EF ,one minute before, and his answer was: " in a few months"!

I will say that if EF is going into the fashion business, he needs to clean himself up - better fitting suits, better personal grooming and do not wear brown shoes with gray suits!
I don't see him like a future succesful fashion businessman, in Italy at least.
Pamk, men can wear brown shoes and gray suits, in Europe at least. It is considered a right choice.
The problem with Princess Clotilde is that she is both. And as long as Italy isn't a monarchie, I have to be honest and say I don't really see the problem. :flowers:
Totally right!

You are not the only one who feels this way and this is not only for Italy. A lot of deposed monarchs kept their mouths shut and their dignity intact, then their children became or married celebrities who "compete" for magazine covers with the starlets.

Exactly! There are many, they are rich and want to be every week of point de vue, for example...

In most cases they bought the title and they want everyone to know they got their money's worth. Although Clotilde had no money that I know of.
PDV was pushing her as a daughter of an aristocratic mother though......

Nothing wrong with that. What I find amusing is when the royals become celebrities for a few yards of fabric and some baubles.........One is either a HRH or a celebrity. These two should not mix.

I understand - but some of these HRH are not wealthy and cannot lead the lavish lifestyle of their non-royal friends and they want to. So, they sell themselves out as "ambassadors" of a fashion house (or a car manufacturer,
luxury watch company, etc.) - they get lots of free clothes or goodies, lots of invites to society events, free "this" and free "that"
In today's culture, HRH ARE celecrities - they sell lots of magazines when their photo is on the cover.
I agree with you that they should not mix, but such is life today.

True, very true and still sad. Many old aristocrats lived in almost empty houses and sold the family silver to keep up appearances......and their "reputations" intact. Well it is a changing world that is for certain.

You are right, but Clotilde, Princess Caroline or Marie Chantal of Greece, for example, they all are very rich and they could afford any dress, but still they are "ambassadors" of fashion house!

I do not believe Clotilde is rich. I may be wrong.
However I highly doubt P Caroline or MC are borrowing clothes or accept free stuff. There are a lot of others I would believe they are but the conversation would belong to another thread.

As fas as I know, the Savoias are still very rich. All of them! The only "poor" ones are their distant cousins Savoia-Aosta.
As far as it regards the other two Princesses, though I can't obviously be sure, I doubt that Caroline pay for the Chanel dresses or that Marie Chantal used to pay for the Valentino ones. Caroline is not only one of Lagerfeld's best friends, but she is also a sort of muse for Lagerfeld! I think that is also the reason why she only wears Chanel!

I know of a Prince, living not far from my home, whose family is older than the Grimaldis or the Hanoverians, that often sell his family silver or pretends that it's been stolen..., and also sell interviews to a couple of mags. I often happen to see him, but won't tell who he is, of course.

I do not believe Clotilde is rich.

As far as I know, her family owns a beautiful castle in France.

Giov, according to "Striscia la notizia", a satyrical TV show, Prince Carlo Giovanelli is Europe's poorest prince.

Here's the clip (it starts automatically)

:previous:
The clip is worth looking at to see (near the start) a glimpse of Prince Giovanelli's fabulous garden.

The Prince said that he rents his gardens and the largest rooms of his palace for wedding receptions.
BTW the TV show host is a friend of my hubby's: you may wonder what sort of people we're mixing with . Ciao Charlie!;)

It is true Tosca, it is possible to rent the beautiful Casale Giovanelli in Rome, there is a nice garden.
Prince Alberto and Don Carlo (do not forget that the Head of the House is Alberto...) are both not really wealthy, they survive.

Alberto, who is a real gentleman and Prince 100% lives in Clusone near Bergamo. Carlo lives in Rome and goes from one party to the other...
Their life should is quite boring...

Prince Emanuele Filiberto dining out with a mystery lady in Rome.
The article reads that they're just friends, and that he is going to spend the summer holidays/vacations with Clotilde and their daughter.
Still according to the mag Clotilde divides herself between Paris and Umbria (Central Italy) where they own a country house.

Tosca thanks for the photos. I have lots of amicos but no one looks at me like that or holds my hand..........Does not look good. He is a married man and his wife is out of town..........he ,at least, should have been discreet.

Ouch! I agree with you, Odette.
No matter what kind of relationship this may be, but the
only women Prince Emanuele should run around with like this,
should be his wife, sister, if he had one, or one if his daughters
if they were a bit older. These pics are a bit unfortunate if one
can say so ;) Nevertheless: Thanks a lot for sharing them with
us, Tosca :flowers:

Oh my, she looks really young, like she should be his neice or something. Hopefully she is or some close relation, if not, well I just don't know what to say.

Well, apparently this week's DIVAeDONNA mag has solved EF's mystery lady case: she is an actress, whose name's Daniela Mazzolari. There's an interview where she explain that they are long time very good friends, and that she isn't absolutely romatically involved with him. She also says that, even though she's only seen Clotilde for a minute at an event, EF always talk to her about his wife and daughters, and that he's still very much in love with Clotilde.

EF and Daniela at a charitable sport event that took place in Cortina this past winter:

Thank you Tosca. Did you see the end of that clip? It looks like Clotilde is either going to go hug her husband or wring his neck........It is a short clip but it does not look like either one of them looked at each other.......

Thanks for the nice video, Tosca! :flowers:

Here are some new pics of Clotilde and the girls:

How could he fall in love with her?He is a very handsome man and she is simply ugly.In these photos we can see her "natural beauty" without make up but we have seen her dressed up also and there wasn't a difference...Sorry if i sound mean but it's the truth!

I don't think Clothilde is a great beauty, but I don't think she is ugly either. She is one of those women who can look REALLY great or really homely and plain. And she is warm and down to Earth, I saw an interview with her on American television.

EF should know better, even if this young lady is a "friend". How is anyone going to ever take the House of Savoy seriously again if EF and his Daddy don't straighten up and fly right?? They are becoming the punch line in a bad joke.

In those photos at the airport she does not look too happy and I wonder why he did not escort them to the airport and she is all by herself with the girls.
With regard to her beauty, he had dated before Alexandra DiAndia who is a few years older and Ursula Adresse's niece. Neither are great beauties and perhaps he is an attractive man but this does not mean he is good as well. Apart from all this, he has married her and the least he can do is be discreet.

If I saw my husband exhibiting such body language with a female "friend" I would wring his neck! Of course women are going to throw themselves at him, but for him to be so openly affectionate with her is really stupid unless he and Clotilde have an understanding and an open marriage.

I agree with you!
She is not a great beauty but IMO she is the nicest of the family!

His family? You mean in terms of beauty or proper behaviour?
In my opinion, I do not think they hit the jackpot on either category.

You are quite right. The Savoia's are just one shock after another to me. I started really following them around the time of EF's wedding and when I saw his bride hopping down the aisle of that beautiful Cathedral with her big pregnant belly my mouth dropped. She is a lovely woman but that had to be a first.

Then there was the incident at CP Felipe's wedding, with the fisticuffs and bloody noses, and then Umberto's hooker scandal.
Keep in mind that this is the Royal Family that had custody of the Holy Shroud of Turin for YEARS before turning it over to the Vatican!
It's just too much.

It is true that EF father has been quite unroyal to say the least. There was an incident years ago when he shot to death a German tourist who was spending time on his yacht. Then as you mentioned the last few years he had a couple of chances to make the rag front pages. I was just hoping that EF would turn the tide since he seems affable enough and young to earn him some sympathy from the Italians.
I remember the comment about Clotilde's wedding dress that Valentino tailored the dress to enhance and celebrate her impending motherhood.........
Well, let me tell you in some ways the neighbourhood is not what it used to be...........LOL

and then Umberto's hooker scandal.
Umberto?
You meant Vittorio Emanuele, I guess.
EF's father is Vittorio Emanuele.
Umberto, EF's grandfather, was such a nice person.
