 He is an Italian citizen now, so he is allowed to vote. However I think he still has a double citizenship, Swiss and Italian.

I heard that from the TV news last night: poor Filiberto, apparently politics is not for him! I wonder how he will show his fluency in 5 languages, he's so proud of. Actually if he speaks the other 4, the way he speaks Italian...

not over, but on the other side.. EF broke with UDC as he support now some centre-right candidates while the party decided to support center-left candidates (for provincial councils of Milan and Turin for example)

Yes these pics show EF supporting centre-right candidate for Turin province Claudia Porchietto (an enterpreneur in the automotive field); UDC supported the other candidate Mr Saitta, who has already been Turin province's president in the last 5 years and who finally won.

Tomorrow night Prince Emanuele Filiberto will act as chairman of the jury of "Miss Italia nel Mondo" (Miss Italy in the world, a beauty contest for girls born abroad, but that have at least a drop of Italian blood).
Since the contest will take place only 9 km from where I live, I'd like to go there, and see if I manage to spot him, like I saw Princess Melba Ruffo di Calabria some years ago. She was a gorgeous woman indeed! The TV screen didn't do justice to her!
My son just told me that the beaty contest will take place in another town this year.

I've had the rare chance to see the whole Miss Italia show
last week, and although I wasn't able to understand much
I felt it wasn't a good idea of him to take part, the dancing
show should have been an one-off trip into the showbiz
