he's traitor!! he not born in russia! he born in spain! he's not full russian!!
What is your point?....the last Czar, HIM Nicholas II, had VERY little Russian blood flowing through his viens. According to the experts he was only 1/264 th. Russian.
He was mostly GERMAN in decent.
GD Maria Vladimirovna[mother of GD Georgi], according to most experts, has the best claim to the Romanov throne. What difference does it make where they were born. The Romanov House laws do not exclude the rightful hier just because he/she happened to be born outside of Russia. Get a grip on reality!

Rare photographs of the Tsar Nicholas II and Tsarevitch Aleksey.
Taken at Stavka (Army Headquarters) in Mogilev, there is an inscription in pencil (in Russian) on the back of photo saying "Stavka 1915".

I'm sorry, but I don't know the source, these photos were from my grandmother in Russia. She bought them a long time ago, but she doesn't know who took them. Besides they're copies of the originals.
I did some research and I think they may have been taken by T. Kon or D. Asikritov who were the main photographers to the Imperial Court.

Here is what I can read from the postcard: (The message begins on the back and ends on the front of the postcard):

"Aleck to go too, but he can't come up for it. I do hope they will ask me to take someone in his stead!! You ought to have been here on Sunday "the bob" was in church. I went and had tea with them in the afternoon so you can imagine my joy!!! I saw the King of Spain this morning just as he was driving into Kensington Palace gates on the High Street. Sally was here on Saturday and seem quite sad that you weren't here. Certainly you made a deep impression. It has pelted with rain all day as well as yesterday. There is a doodie Band playing just now. Hope you will be able to read these. Best love, Y.L.C. Gladys. June 6th 1905."

*I am not sure what a "doodie Band" is but I think it might be a band that plays in front of the palace. I watched such a band play at Buckingham Palace in front of the guards.

Beautiful picture of the last Tsar. He was a powerful tsar but he lost everything, his trone and love from his people.
More pictures of the tsar Nicholas II. With his son, grand duke Alexei, with kosaks troops and a 1896 picture,The Coronation Day in Moscow.

Romanovs at Livardia

I would be most grateful if anyone can recommend the best book or lengthy article which covers the life of the Russian royal family at their summer palace. Also if anyone knows of photographs of Tsar Nicholas II and his family holidaying there. Many thanks.

I think Nicholas and Alexandra-the family albums is a great book by Prince Micheal of Greece. It has a lot of great photos of the imperial family on the standart, finland and the beach.

So many info over here!! when i get some time, i ll read all the post. In the meantime, here s some of my work on Nicky s pictures

Thank you Ekaterina Romanova. The "Recolouring the Tsar" link contains some wonderful pictures. :flowers:

I wish I knew how people did the re coloring. Very good indeed.

Thanks you both!. Michael...is very easy to do whern you got programs like "recolored". Just takes loads of patience and love (yes..those pics were recolored with tons of love!

I would recommend Adobe photoshop Elements 7, Adobe Photoshop cs3, and Paint shop pro 9. Those are very great colouring programs.

These are very nice photos of Alix. I notice that close resemblence to Ella.

As elegant and regal as she is, Alix always looks so sad.......
Nicholas just has a boyish, charming look - even as he got older...
