Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna: June 2008-

If you have answers, please help by responding to the unanswered posts.
Grand Duchess Maria of Russia recently attended the birthday party in London of her cousin Archduchess Helen of Austria.

While there the Grand Duchess met again with HM The Queen.

The first time the Grand Duchess met The Queen was when Her Majesty invited Maria and her parents to tea at Buckingham Palace while Maria was at Oxford in the early 1970s.

I really would like to see full list of guests. It should be amazing.

the Tsesarevich is the Son of a Tsar and not of the head of the House who is only a Grand Duchess.
The late Prince Alexis will be for ever the very last one.

Wishes for all these days and the New Year from Grand Duchess Maria and Grand Duke Georgi

The term used in the message is Tsesarevich, not Tsarevich; i think this is correct, see
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tsesarevich

Until the birth of Grand-Prince Alexey, the eldest brother of Nicholas II was the Tsarevitch. This brother, Grand-Prince Georgy, however died in 1899. Now the next younger brother, Grand-Prince Michael, was the heir. He was not named Tsarevitch because of policy and superstition.

Policy: the third daughter of Tsar Nicholas II was just born, again no male heir, and the Tsar thought officially designating Grand-Prince Michael as the new Tsarevitch was only highlighting his lack of a heir.

Superstition: the Tsar thought designating an official Tsarevitch was challenging the Gods: he then would certainly not get a son. (The Tsar and Tsarina were under ill1! - advised influence of idiots pre-Rasputin).

And he got a son, but very sick, which sickness didn't give perspective for a long life.
Even without the Revolution, Grand Prince Michael could outlive his nephew.

Alexey was the Tsesarevich (the heir-apparent). Note the different spelling.
His uncles Georgy and Michael were Tsarevich (the presumed heir).
In English this difference is often lost and Alexey wrongly named Tsarevich. He never was Tsarevich: he was the last Tsesarevich of All Russia.

So the son of Maria Vladimirovna is not called Tsesarevich (heir apparent) but Tsarevich (presumed heir) as his mother is the presumed Head of the House. In a sense this styling is correct, actually.

As Lee-Z noted, the message clearly uses Tsesarevich, not Tsarevich.

The Head of the Imperial House of Russia,
H.I.H. the Grand Duchess Maria of Russia,
And H.I.H. the Heir, Tsesarevich, and Grand Duke George of Russia

extend their heartfelt thanks to all their countrymen and to friends of Russia around the word,
who have sent them their holiday greetings,
and likewise send greetings for a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year in 2019,
wishing everyone good health, happiness, spiritual strength, and God’s help
in all their endeavours.

His uncles Georgy and Michael were Tsarevich (the presumed heir).

Did you mean to write "uncle Georgy" rather than "uncles Georgy and Michael"? As you pointed out with your first post citing Helen Rappaport - The Romanov Sisters, Michael was not granted the titles of an heir to the throne.

Georgy is addressed here, on the cover of a copy of a 1899 ceremonial, as "Césarévitch". https://www.vialibri.net/years/item...-ceremonial-approuve-par-sa-majeste-lempereur

Grand-Princess Maria Nicholaevna, the third daughter, was one month old when her uncle Tsarevich Georgy Alexandrovich died. As Tsar Nicholas II still had no male heirs, the expectation was that he would confirm his youngest brother Grand-Prince Michael Alexandrovich as the new Tsarevich.

Out of policy and because of superstition the Tsar refused to confirm his youngest brother. Later, when it became clear that the (then 6/7 years old) Tsesarevich Alexej Nicholaevich was extremely vulnerable, in 1911/1912 the Tsar considered to confirm his youngest brother as Tsarevich, but then Grand-Prince Michael Alexandrovich married a twice-divorced non-royal lady without the Tsar's approval and by doing so he threw himself out of the Imperial House.

Floppy didn't exactly throw himself out of the House, but he and Natalia "transferred themselves" to comfortable England. With all my might I never could understand why of all people he had to have Natalia.Probably in essence because he was a bit of a spoiled brat with not to much sense of responsibility....Not untill it was too late.

Tsar Nicolas II was against the wedding of Grand Duke Cyril with the divorcee Princess Melitta of Hesse.
Without this wedding no Grand Duchess Maria ...

On 1 December , in the Central House of Writers, a solemn ceremony of awarding the winners of the literary prize "Heritage" for 2019 was held with the presence of GD Maria.

Grand Duchess Maria of Russia and D. Duarte, Duke of Bragança, participated in a dynastic exchange of orders this evening in a palace near Moscow:

I strongly commend Georg Prinz von Preußen ("Georgy Romanov") to see a fitness club. Not even for representation but just primarily for his health. I can see the presssure on his knees, his short breathing and the unease of his movements, because of all that mass. This is critical for his health. And he still "has" to procreate the imperial family...

GD Maria was found positive to coronavirus several days ago with a small flu condition but now has recovery

"As the head of her office, Alexander Zakatov, told Interfax, "at the end of March, the Grand Duchess experienced mild ailment for several days, similar to the signs of a typical seasonal SARS. After passing the test, it was established that it was a coronavirus."
Now doctors are stating her full recovery with the presence of "stable immunity." And although nothing threatens the Grand Duchess’s health, “she continues to observe the quarantine regime in accordance with the procedure established by the authorities,” said Zakatov

I am not sure but she does look younger? Maybe Botox or a small lift? What ever it is, she looks good.
