Last Saturday there was a reception at the former Alte Remise of Altshausen Castle which was renovated and reopened as Gallery with the artworks of Duchess Diane on the occasion of her 70th birthday on month earlier. I was there and took some photos of the Family and the guests.

On April 1st, Duchess Diana has allowed a photosession in her
house "Flor de Liz" on the Spanish island Mallorca.

Some of the shots are really nice, others are maybe a bit unusual.

Duchess Diane received the insignia of the Legion d'Honeur at Hotel Bristol in PAris. Apart from members of the Wurttemberg family, the ceremony was also attended by former president Valery Giscard d'Estaing and by Bernadette Chirac, wife of former president Jacques Chirac.

I suppose nobody from the Family D'Orleans participated at the event.

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone knows who this is - I was told that this is Archduchess Margarete Sophie of Austria.

Yes, she is.
Duchess Margarete Sophie of Wurttemberg, née Archduchess of Austria; she was born in 1870, daughter of Archduke Carl Ludwig (brother of Emperor Franz Josef) and his second wife Archduchess Maria Annunziata, née Princess of Bourbon-Two Sicilies. Margarete married in 1893 to her distant cousin Duke Albrecht of Wurttemberg, with whom she had 7 children (the eldest, Philipp Albrecht, was the father of the current Duke of Wurttemberg and of the Duchess of Montpensier). Margarete died in 1902.

Grand Duchess Oolha was married to King Wilhelm, I. ' son son Karl. and kIng wilhelm I. had married as his second wife Gand Duchess Katharina of Russia. but both marriages didnt provide male heirs. The marriage of Karl and Olga was childless and Wilhelm I. and Cathjarina had "only" 2 daughters. It's interesting that there are no descendans of them as the oldest daughter marie and her husband Count Neipperg had no children and the younger daughter Sophie and her husband King Willlm III. of the Netherlands had 3 sons who all died unmarried and without leaving descendants.

On Saturday 24.07.2010 Duke Carl and Duchess Diane celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary with a special Mass at the Castle Church of Altshausen. After the mass a reception took place at the recently opened Gallery at the Alte Remise of the Castle.
