Philippa's father, Count Hieronymus Spannocchi, is the brother of Kathatina, second wife of the late Count Rudolph von Schönborn-Wiesentheid and stepmother of Fürstin Gabriela zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn, Ludwig's mother.

Philippa's mother, Countess Verena, was born as Countess von Schönborn-Buchheim, and is cousin of Count Friedrich Karl, the husband of Princess Isabelle d'Orleans.

Why was the first marriage of Count Rudolph von Schönborn-Wiesentheid with Princess Helene von Thurn und Taxis religiously annulled if it lasted 20 years and they had four children?

How old is Phillippa? Does she have siblings?

Count Hyeronimus and Countess Verena Spannocchi have 2 daughters:

The first one is Countess Almerie Sophie Katharina Maria Spannocchi, born in 1979...

The second one is Countess Philippa who is the same age as Prince Ludwig zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn,born in 1982...

They also have a son:

Count Lelio Franziskus Karl Maria Spannocchi, born in 1980...

I don't know the reason of the anulement, and I don't think the reason has been made public, but however in some cases the long duration of the marriage and the presence of children isn't a problem for getting the anulement (see i.e. the anulement of the marriage of the Count of Paris and the Duchess of Montpensier in 2009, after 27 years and 5 children).
The most curious thing imo is that Rudolf and Helene got before the anulement in 1967 and only later in 1968 the divorce; usually it's the contrary.

Philippa is 28, being born on 20 August 1982. According to GeneAll.net, she has two brothers (Lelio, b.1980, and Benedikt, b.1994) and two sisters (Almerie, b.1979, and Antonia, b.1985).

In 1967, the Canon Law in force was the one of 1917. There has been a new Canon Law in 1983. Maybe the old Canon Law allowed a divorce before the annulment.

:previous:
Or perhaps an annulment is an internal Roman Catholic Church dispensation whereas a divorce is the State's legal dissolution of a marriage.
In other words, one is religious and one is civil.

Yes, the religious annulment (or more correctly, the declaration of nullity of the marriage) and the civil divorce are two different matters; a couple can ask and get one of them without necessarily asking or getting the other.

My point was that usually, since it's much more difficult to get the declaration of nullity and it requires a much longer time than the civil divorce (and it is also much more expensive), couples ask or however get the divorce before the annulment; instead, in Rudolf and Helene's case, firstly they asked and got the declaration of nullity and only later they got the civil divorce.

I live in a country where the only legal wedding is the civil one and there is a requirement from the catholic Church to be divorced before appying for an annulment.

That is a nice and unaffected picture of the newly engaged couple.
Are there any news about Fürstin Manni? I would love to see an exhibition about her beautiful work again.

Prince Ludwig zu Sayn-Wittgenstein-Sayn and Countess Philippa Spannocchi became engaged on 26 December 2010.

Who is the German Princess Spain is speaking about?
Angebliche Affäre von Juan Carlos: Wer ist diese Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein? - Royals - Bild.de

After the elephant crisis now puts King Juan Carlos (74) alleged affair with the German Princess Corinna Sayn-Wittgenstein (47) in the Spanish media in the spotlight. Who is the woman who confuses the Spanish royal family like that?

Corinna Sayn-Wittgenstein was the daughter of the Danish manager Bönning Finn Larsen († 88) to the world. She is born in Frankfurt am Main, where her father had worked as European Director of Varig Brazilian airline.

She got her title by her marriage with Prince Casimir of Sayn-Wittgenstein (36). Casimir's family was on the wedding plans with a much older Civil anything but pleased. Nevertheless, the couple married in 2000, initially in a civil ceremony in London.

One year later a church wedding in Salzburg, after her first marriage with Philip Atkins had been annulled. By him she had a daughter in 1992, Natassi. With Prince Casimir, the princess a son. The marriage with the prince was only five years.

Corinna does not come without controversy . To some, it is "title-hunter and money." She was romantically involved with including the billionaire Gert-Rudolf ("Muck") Flick.

The rumor that the relationship between King Juan Carlos and Princess Corinna is more than just friendship, circulates throughout Spain for some time. Well out of respect for the throne holder of the affair in the Spanish gossip press has been concealed until now though. In her book, "The Loneliness of the Queen," the journalist Pilar Eyre's alleged relationship of the couple, however themed detail.

Again and again, the attractive blonde on the side of the Spanish king seen, accompanied the King to travel abroad regularly. Her passion is hunting and sailing, these hobbies she shares with Juan Carlos. They say the two had once met on a sailing competition in Spain.

In May 2006, the king publicly for the first time with Princess Corinna on in the "Laureus Sports Awards" in Barcelona. That same year, Juan Carlos with her to his cousin, Duke Carl of Württemberg (75). According to the Spanish portal "El confidencial" she's ever even occurred as a representative of the monarch, in a meeting with the Saudi Arabian Prince Alwaleed bin Talal.

Since 2010 she has a residence in Madrid, which is located very close to the Zarzuela Palace - where Juan Carlos lives with his wife Sofia. In Africa, the princess regularly organizes hunts for millionaires and aristocrats. They should also have been planned by the elephant-hunting for Juan Carlos.

Prince Carl-Albrecht von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg and Countess Camilla Schenk von Stauffenberg got married on April, 29th at the St.-Vitus-Church in Amerdingen.
Adel: Traumhochzeit im Schloss Amerdingen - Nachrichten Nördlingen - Augsburger Allgemeine

Why is Camilla called Grafin Schenk von Stauffenberg? That is her mothers title but her father was an untitled commoner was he not. I know Germans titles are not really valid anymore so the usual rules of nobility dont really apply here.

As you say there are no titles anymore in Germany. They have become the surnames since 1919. And everyone can take the surname of his mothers. So this is probably what Camilla did.

Would Prince Carl-Albrecht von Sayn-Wittgenstein-Berleburg be subject to the same inheritance rules as Prince Gustav, meaning required to marry a titled lady with several generations of nobility on both sides?

No, thank goddness.
It is not a house rule that prevents Gustav from marrying a commoner.
Gustav's problem is a will which is grandfather made during WWII. And this will only concerns Gustav.

their daughter Nathalie (born in 1975) rode Dressage for "Denmark" and I think won a bronze medal.......now is she a citizen of German or Denmark ??????
According to Danish Wikipedia both princess Nathalie and princess Alexandra became Danish citizens on May 19, 1998, both of them were born in Copenhagen, Denmark. They probably also have German citizenship too.

I was told that she may also have been adopted by her maternal grandfather as she is going to manage the family property. It seems that his sons aren't interested.
