Carl-Eduard is befriended with King Willem-Alexander. He and his late spouse Countess Celia were at his wedding in 2002, together with the late Fürst Ferdinand and Fürstin Elizabeth.

Thanks for the information!
It is deeply unfortunate that the Bismark family can not settle their family affairs in private.

It seems the King was accompagnied by his brother Prince Constantijn and his sister-in-law Princess Laurentien. Queen Máxima apparently stayed in Greece.

It was nice indeed. I'm glad that the two families are still close enough for the DRF to be represented at the funeral.

The late Fürst was a youth friend of Claus von Amsberg. It is through him that the Von Bismarcks became intimi of the Orange-Nassaus. With the death of the Fürst the two brothers, Willem-Alexander and Constantijn, will have honoured him in name of their beloved father Claus.

With the passing of the Fürst, the King has two godparents left: Queen Margrethe II of Denmark and Mrs Thurlow Bradbrooke Smith née jonkvrouw Renée Elisabeth Röell (a youth friend of his mother Princess Beatrix).

I like that Willem-Alexander Claus Georg Ferdinand did attend his godfather's funeral.
He must be one of the many men who sport a 'vacation/holiday beard'; I expect it to be clean-shaven again when he starts working again.
