It's cool to see royals marry royals nowadays cz it's more rare. But on the other hand, marrying commoners allows for new blood to enter the gene pool. We don't want another kid to end up like Charles II of Spain.

Pavlos was allegedly pushed towards MC by the rich Greeks who financially support his father, but there's no evidence his parents pushed him. If she'd been dirt poor and a commoner, it's unlikely his parents would have been pleased, but they wouldn't have forced him either way. Anne-Marie probably wouldn't have stood for him being forced. But encouraging your son to marry a certain type of person and forcing him to do it are two different things. Besides, Theodora is nowhere near as important as Pavlos, and there'd be even lower expectations placed on who she marries because she's so far down in line (to a nonexistant throne). And if she plans on acting, it's probably even less likely she'll end up married to a royal (William would never be allowed to marry an actress).

I wouldn't be surprised by that. I've read many articles about the couple from the time of the engagement/marriage (1995), and many speculated that there was dowry involved. After exile, the Greek royal family (who were never really wealthy while in power) was living off gifts and donations of rich Greek businessmen, and the money was dwindling.

Constantine is supposedly still living off the donations (they're supposed to come once a year), but Pavlos doesn't need the money anymore. Anne-Marie, Theodora and Philippose are paid for by Constantine (with the donations). Alexia and Pavlos are financially independent. I don't know about Nikolaos, though. He works in his father's office, but I don't know what his salary would be.

Hi Kelly,

I agree with you. There have been many stories about the King and Queen, since they have lived in exile, living off of donations from wealthy and supportive Greek expats also living in London.

I have a huge amount of respect for P. Alexia who is a special education therapist I believe.

The dowry when MC married Pavlos was supposed to be something like 200 million American dollars.....but that is what I heard.

Although Pavlos is VERY succesful in his business in his own right.

Why would you think Pavlos is successful in his business?

Photos which I don't think have been posted

The photo of Phillipos and his father, Constantine is the newest from the family gathering at Sofiero in Sweden on June 2nd. There are a couple from May last year at the Danish and Spanish weddings and I think that's it. Enjoy!

I have friends in New York who have done business with P. Pavlos's hedge fund investment company. From what I hear from them is a very astute business man.

However, it was never any secret ten years ago when he married MC the dowry was HUGE in terms of a financial windfall.

I think it is the first time we have seen Philippos in public for a very long time. I still don´t understand why he didn´t attend the weddings of his cousins in may 2004.... Anyone who knows that?

He may have been busy with school. Frederik's wedding was on a Friday, so he could have been in class.

That's what I am thinking. Oh well, maybe he even did not want to go. It's possible.

SO do you think he makes alot of profit from his firm?

Also I think Theodora is very graceful and I hope she marries well. I really think she coudl marry another titled (and hopefully richer for her sake) man.

Don't know how well financially, and I would never speculate, but I am sure he must be doing well enought not rely so much on MC's dowry.

I also hope Theodora marries well, maybe a prince or into a reigning royal family.
I wonder what name last name she uses when she attends Brown University? What last name would the family use?

If you check the pictures carefully, Nikolaos is now Theodora's company to all parties like he used to be to Alexia's before she got married, at this rate, Phillippos would get married before him

I read once that Pavlos was enrolled in Georgetown as Paul of Greece, but Nikolaos was Nick Constantine to his army comrades, so maybe one of those two.
