I don't think it is necessarily official, but Tatiana used to work (still does?) for Diane von Furstenberg, so I think it is just assumed that she will wear something of her design.

I also think so. Tatiana has the looks of a model and for the very few pics of her attending the danish events that I have seen I think that she is going to be THE fashion icon. First because working in the fashion world must help, and also her position will allow her to wear things that the likes of CPs Victoria, Maxima, Mary etc... cannot wear. DFV can be exuberant, audacious yet always appropriate, it would be a perfect choice of wedding dress.

I imagined it. I think the Prince Nikolaos has attended all parties of his cousin, he does not deserve such scorn by his cousin, but I imagined it. The only thing that united the Prince Nikolaos with the Royal House of Denmark was the Queen Ingrid.Prince Nikolaos presented to his girlfriend at the wedding of Prince Frederick, Tatiana was not the wedding of Prince Felipe.

What I don't get is that Frederik is going to the last 2 days of the Summer Olympics, why not go from the start and leave for wedding?
Joachim could be regent, while his parents are on holiday.

She was not the wedding, she was the private party given the Prince Frederik three days earlier,in Amalienborg Palace, I remember that the Spanish press mistook to Tatiana with Theodora. I do not like the gesture of the Prince of Denmark, Prince Nikolaos doesn´t deserves scorn like that, Prince Nikolaos is a good person.He is cousin or was cousin..

Maybe since Joachim & Marie never go to royal weddings they're giving them the chance to go to this one? Is Prince Henrik going? I didn't see his name on the Press release. I honestly think the having a regent thing is so stupid, it's not like the Queen does anything more than ceremonial things.

But they could all go to the royal wedding, Frederik included because Princess Bendikte is acting as Regent.
Prince Henrik is in Shanghai until the 1st September.

First off, thanks Lumutqueen for the wedding date. Will have it on the calendar momentarily. :o)

Second...Having Regents in place is not a stupid thing. Remember that at the time of the wedding, both the Queen and the Crown Prince will be out of the country. Now, assuming that Christian and/or Isabella aren't attending along w/the rest and are staying at home, what happens if God forbid the worst takes place and....

Denmark would then have a Child for their Monarch. *That's* why there's a Regency established whenever the, shall we say, top two in the Line of Sucession are out of the Country. Not only not stupid, but makes perfect sense.

Hmm, yet Frederik isn't going? Maybe he and Nikolaos don't get along? Or he's to excited about his new house.

And about Regents, well seeing that most monarchies don't have them, I think it's really a weak excuse to not attend.

I would not say it's the fault of Prince Frederik, these things are determined by people working for the Danish royal house, they determine which the act must attend them and which the acts should not go them ........ The Queen Mother Ingrid was over these people, she determined where she was going and where she was not going..The family was very important to her...

I am amazed that people think that Frederik is snubbing his cousin by not attending his marriage.

From what I recall (and if I am incorrect, I am sure someone will correct me):

1) The date of this wedding was announced in June of this year, I believe it was between the middle or the end of the month. Let's just say June 25th of this year....that is what.....six to eight weeks ago?
2) From what I understand of royals and their engagements, some events are planned months if not a year in advance. So I would imagine that Frederik would have already had on his schedule his participation at the Junior Olympics. Since this is a world wide event, I would think that they had this planned at least a year in advance. You know to accomodate all of the important people who would be in attendance, all so the indidivudal countries could schedule the appropriate dates of competition. Surely something like this is not planned in a vacuum.
3) It looks like the Queen is in attendance but her sister is not. So one will be there and one aunt wont because she is acting as Regent. Frederik's wife as well as his brother and his sister in law will watch Nikolaos marry.
4) So what if Frederick has canceled his participation in this event, would we be hearing comments that he is not doing his duties?

So why is all the scorn on Frederik? Did I miss anything?

I´m sure Danish media had not even cared whether Niko attended a wedding ore something else because they´re not a bit interested whether some Greek cousin of Frederik´s attends his wedding. They wouldn´t even have noticed that he wasn´t there.

You're right, when the journalist did the interview in a magazine danish to Queen Anne M, by 70 th birthday of Queen Margaret, they asked to Queen Anne Marie by Princess Theodora but they did not asked by Prince Philippos....Philippos, who is Philippos????

The truth is that he is not some Greek cousin but Frederik's first cousin (and he doesn't have a single drop of Greek blood running in his veins but that's an other conversation) but i also strongly believe that NOBODY would notice if he would be at Frederik's marriage for example or not.On the other hand he would definetely be there because it would be a perfect opportunity to see and be seen and opportunities like these aren't everyday phenomenon for Nick and his family since nobody cares about what he's doing and he doesn't even have a ''decent'' job,i mean working at dad's office at age 40?Come freaking on.He has zero status and he will never have the popularity or publicity other royals do.That's kinda unfair since his blood is as blue as it gets but it is the truth.

Anyway,Nikolaos's and Tatiana's wedding will be mentioned in Greek media but mostly by those who own magazines and newspapers and they are close to them.The rest won't care much.Nick will always be the son of those who lost crown and Tatiana will always be a beauty,a socialite and Diane's employee.

I would hazard to guess that Frederik would have liked to attend Nikolas's wedding. As previously mentioned, they are cousins and have grown up together.

It just looks like there is a schedule conflict. I am sure that Nikoloas is aware of Frederik's responsibilities and Frederik I would assume wishes the best for Nikolaos and Tatiana for their wedding. But marriage is more than one day....I would rather hope that Frederik would be there for his cousin and his wife every day and not just the one day.

My main point is that one should assume that Frederik is not close to Nikolas or doesn't think his wedding is important. Most weddings that I know and attend, send a save the date card six months prior to the event and the official wedding invitations go out six to eight weeks prior to the event. Most people don't have the packed international and domestic schedule that a lot of the royals have.

I wish they would release the guest list just so we can know who's attending, even if they just put it on their website.

Sorry but you do not know the work that the Prince Nikolaos plays in the office of his father, I remember that he is representative of airline of which his father is a shareholder and he is representative of others companies
And second if he would want to be seen, would have granted an interview to some magazine about his wedding he has not granted any interview .He hasn´t said nothing.
There are many other monarchies in exile, people who believe in monarchies know who they are, they too are invited to the royal weddings .
