The duke and duchess appeared in last weeks Point de Vue. They attended a special ceremony foir the Aga Kahn. The Aga Kahn was honoured as he helps with the restauration of the castle of Chantilly as he donated an amount of €40 milion.

Prince Jean of Orleans and Princess Philomena, Duke and Duchess
of Vendome, spent their honeymoon on a pilgrimage to Santiago de
Compostela. The couple, who celebrated their wedding this spring,
is expecting their first child. Santiago de Compostela, Spain, June
3, 2009.

Nice pics and great news for the couple!

What is it, I am always so moved?

Congratulations to the Duke and Duchess! This is very exciting news.

The baby news are confirmed on the Duke's official site
"Gens de France", in the article about their pilgrimage to
Santiago de Compostela it is said that they ended their
trip as three and can announce happy news. Although I
felt you were already able to see a little pregnant belly
on those pics I had posted ;)

"Aujourd'hui, ils le terminent pour ainsi dire à trois, ayant la
joie d'annoncer un heureux événement."

Here's the link to that page:

La Maison de France sur le chemin de Saint Jacques…

Apparently the baby was conceived before the wedding.

If yes or no , this is absolutely private..
Prince Jean is not that young and I am very happy for them and his family

It is great news. It is the first and foremost duty of Duke and Duchess of Vendome to secure the dynasty.

Congrats to them the house willl continue through this child espically if it is a boy.
And it is a girl it is still is exciting to know that they are blessed to have an offspring.

The House of Orléans is quite secure dynastically. There are currently over a dozen Orléans Princes, all descendants of the late comte and comtesse de Paris.

I have an issue of "Point de Vue" from 2004 which was dominated by a huge family tree of the Comtesse de Paris which, then, measured the size of the family in hundreds!

the gala evening of the foundation "pour l'enfance" (for the childhood)

Especially pic 3 shows the advanced pregnancy :)

Iceflower, thank you very much for the pictures! :flowers:

Princess Philomena looks absolutely beautiful, pregnancy certainly suits her. Judging by the pictures, Philomena has adjusted well to the Royal life: she looked elegant and effortlessly graceful.
I can't wait to see their little one. :)

The baby is expected in late 2009, probably in the second half of December. :)

Let's not forget that the couple were married in a civil ceremony 2 months prior to the Church wedding.
According to what I read the baby is due in December.
Congratulations to the happy parents to be..

Princess Philomena of Orleans and Prince Jean of Orleans visit
the Bonpoint boutique in Paris, France, September 29, 2009.

A paradise for mothers-to-be :) if you can afford it of course ;)

On pic 1 it seems like they would leave it as a surprise if it's boy
or a girl, or maybe it's just as they don't want to share their secret :)

Maybe twins...

Wonderful pictures as usual, iceflower, thanks a lot! :flowers:
It's always nice to see this couple. I like Princess Philomena comfortable maternity wear.

I love to see that lovely couple too
I really hope the Duchess de Montpensier will see her grandchild

Thanks for the update of activities of Duke and Duchess of Vendome!
The couple looks happy. It is not surprising that Princess Philomena does not wish to reveal much information about her pregnancy. Pregnant women tend to become superstitious to a certain extent.

Did anybody read this weeks Point de Vue?? They wrote about a rift between prince Jean and his father, the count of Paris. The duke of Vendome is angry about the remarriage and he also seems to have scars from the divorce in 1984. Apparently he has written a letter to his cousins, telling them to stay away from the remarriage of his father. After that his father wrote a letter to a magazine or newspaper, etc.

Yes I read PdV , Prince jean send an e-mail (not a letter !)to his cousins. But the cousin who gave his e-mail to Stephane Bern = the press , is to blame.. sad story again and again.

To me the Count of Paris should not marry the same year as his son.

Who would blame Duke of Vendome for such actions? His frustration is totally understandable.

If he is frustrated, he should go to a shrink !

I understand he might feel the absence of his father when he was a child, but the man is 44 y.old.
It is recomendable that he would rally towards his mother, and take her side, but his comments were IMHO out of place.

He says his father's religious wedding was ridiculous and against the Church Laws.
Hello !
The Vatican just annulled the wedding between Jean's parents ?
Is such a fundamentalist religious like Jean criticizing the Vatican ?
"What God has united, let no man separate" - apparently the Vatican saw good reasons, after such long delay, to decide on Henri's favour.
