What a grand lady she was - ever attentive of her brood of children , grandchildren and great grandchildren. Yes, she would have been a fantastic Queen of France.

Thank you for that update, Marengo. Those are nice pictures of her on their webpage.
The Chateau looks like an amazing place to visit.

Who now holds her title? Or is the title out of use? I'd be interested to know what her children are up to. The Duke and Duchess of Vendôme seem to be so active in performing some aristocratic duties.

Do you mean the title of Countess of Paris?
She got this title as wife of the Count of Paris; this title is now used by their eldest son, Henri, who is the present Head of the Royal House and claimant to the throne; and his wife is therefore the Countess of Paris.

No, she didn't; she died in 2003 and Gaston was born six years later, in 2009.

Does anybody know where to find the article by prince Michel of Greece about 'my aunt bébelle' (ma tante bébelle)? I believe the prince wrote it around the time that the countess of Paris died. I saved it to my computer, but I have lost most of my data several times since that year . It was a very interesting article for all I can remember.

Thanks for posting that link, JulieS. They have a lot of nice pictures of the princess. I esp. like the picture of her at the Trianon in Versailles with several French duchesses.

Prince Jacques of Orleans was present at the opening of the photo exhibition dedicated to the memory of his late mother, the Countess of Paris.
The exposition will be available till October 16th.
