He's not a black sheep.

Ofocourse he is not.

The marriage was approved and his family attended.

I know.

Moreover, he's certainly not the only one not to marry a noble in that family.

I should have also said "of his siblings"; as they all married nobles.

I'm planning my first trip to Vaduz in eighteen years and stumbled across this site - just wanted to post a personal note about Prince Hans Adam, since what I've read here is somewhat distant from him as a person.

A gentleman at the tiny cafe I frequented there spoke to me often about politics, and he introduced the prince to me one day. We chatted for awhile, and he was amazingly friendly. I saw him several more times while in Vaduz, and he always made it a point to say hello. Coming from the US, I was unused to the idea of royalty being accessible - even the politicians I knew were usually loftily apart from the general populace! - and was utterly charmed that a prince would talk with me.

I wrote him a note after I returned home, just as a thank-you for having contributed to the wonderful experience I had spending time in his lovely country. He sent a note back, along with a book about Liechtenstein. To this day his egalitarian attitude remains the most enduring memory of my trip.

Wow, what a wonderful memory! Thanks for sharing with us! :)

Is he Prince of Monaco? or only the husband of Princess Stephanie?

What a wonderful experience you had! I think the prince had a great upbringing and his late parents must have been his role models. When I was in Liechtenstein in the early 80's my friend and I had the opportunity to chat with Princess Gina, his mother, over the phone. She was very down to earth and quite helpful. The family is simply amazing and it's so refreshing that they are so down to earth!

Amazing stories you guys, thank you so much for sharing. It's a shame that there isn't more news about the princely family out there.

There is. :flower:

Prince Hans Adam is a true gentleman! It's my opinion this is thanks to the good upbringing he has had (and also gave to his children).

Thanks for the story.

Alisa, where can one find the news? On the Liechtenstein websites?
I always like hearing about them.

Thanks a bunch! Great sites to bookmark.. I don't mind if they are in German as it is my first language! :)

What else do you know about him?
Where does he works?
Any resent pictures?

Hi All,
Well isnt Maria simply stunning!
anyhow, i like to know about her and her family so could you post info and links to pics. thanks

c'mon everybody, there has to be some pics of maria and info on her i.e school, boyfriends etc and her family!

The press does not usually profile members of the Liechtenstein princely family other than Prince Hans-Adam and Hereditary Prince Alois. You may find only pictures of a young Princess Maria-Annunciata when she was only a child. Corbis has some of these. Pictures may only appear from a major celebration.

And in www.nettyroyal.nl also you can find three pics of Maria Anunciata, one with sister Marie Astrid; other with cousin Guillaume of Luxembourg and another with couisen Marie Christine of Austria

is there any other sites that have pics of her or of her family???
does she have a boyfriend?

Yesterday many Liechtenstein officials and representatives were invited to a small reception at Vaduz Castle in honour of Princess Marie's 64th birthday

Which was the cause of the death of the Prince Wenzel, the youngest brother of Hans Adam and son of Franz Joseph II?

When is Hereditary Prince Alois taking over? I heard August?
