Hey, we finally have a new photo of her [and some of her cousins!], taken at a party given for Princess Alix de Ligne and Princess Louise of Stolberg-Stolberg at Chateau Beloeil in Belgium:

Princess Maria Pia is on a trip to strengthen ties with Slovenia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, so she used the opportunity to visit Medjugorje.Medjugorje, BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA-12/05/2006.

Prince Hans-Adam von Liechtenstein, Princess Marie von Liechtenstein, Austrian President Heinz Fischer, his wife Margrit Fischer, Prince Nikolaus von Liechtenstein und bishop Wolfgang Haas stand for the national anthem the celebrations of the 200-year anniversary of Liechtenstein's sovereignty in Vaduz, Liechtenstein, Wednesday, 12 July 2006. The highlight of the anniversary year is the "Day of Sovereignty" on 12 July - exactly 200 years after the signing of the Treaty of the Confederation of the Rhine, when the Principality received its State sovereignty from Napoleon

Thanks so much. Lovely pictures, and the royals seem to be so relaxed. Nice to see that Maximilian and Angela are attending this day (their son is just to cute btw). Did Princesses Nora and Tatjana stop attending after their marriages?

I agree great pics, thanks to whoever posted them. Princess Marie and Prince Hans Adam always look so happy, I can't say the same for Prince Alois and Prince Sophie, is it because they are just more reserved than Princess Marie and Prince Hans Adam? Has their marriage ever been the source of any speculation?

Prince Nikolaus of Liechtenstein just gave an interview with the Liechtenstein newspaper, Vaterland. Here is a link to the interview, I dont know how long the link will last and a small pic from the interview.

Wow, Alfons is only four?! He's really big for his age. The other children are also very adorable! I love those shots of Marie with her grandsons. Is that Moritz and Georg or Nikolaus, or Lukas von Lattorf?

BTW, could Prince Joseph Wenzel marry any woman he wanted, provided she is Catholic, or is there still a law in place that says the heir has to marry other royal? His choices are a little limited among the still-reigning, since Catholic Belgium has changed its laws, otherwise he and Princess Elisabeth of Belgium could get married (hey, I can dream, can't I ^_^) There's also Leonor, if baby #2 is a boy and they don't change the constitution, or if one of the Dutch girls converts. Of course, there are always the families no longer reigning, and he could marry into those, like his father did. Just curious, if Joseph Wenzel's choice for a bride is more open, as his uncles married commoners, but his father married into royalty. Was that Alois' choice, or was he required to find a royal bride by law?

The House Laws or constitution of the Princely House of Liechtenstein do not specify who the Reigning Prince or Hereditary Prince (or any other prince or princess) should marry. However, the Preamble states "These century-old traditions [of the Liechtenstein family] include the Catholic faith...".

Article 7 deals with marriage and states the Reigning Prince must give his consent (part 1); members of the family have the right to object, and the Reigning Prince shall give a ruling on the objection (part 2). If it is the Reigning Prince who seeks approval to marry, the Family Council will exercise these rights and duties (part 6).

The Family Council consists of three members and three substitutes elected by, and from, the members of the Princely House for a period of 5 years. The Reigning Prince is not a member of the Family Council. (Article 10, parts 1 and 2).
