Maxima looks stunning in the gown. I just wish she had worn a larger tiara ... God knows, you can go big in Brunei!

I know I should know which tiara the Queen is wearing but I can't think of the name. Could someone refresh my memory? It looks like Maxima is wearing the rosé cut bandeau? Thanks in advance for helping me through my 44 year old 'senior' moment!! :)

It is the Wurttemberg tiara she wore on her wedding-day.

As expected the visit is going fine. Sultan Bolkiah does an amazing job receiving guests.

During a speech at the reception of the Dutch community in Brunei HM had to fight her tears,as just before her speech she spoke with parents of a 7 year old girl who had drowned on New years day.It was a moving speech in which HM expressed her gratitude that all had come inspite of the tragedy that recently touched them in their heartsHM said she appriciated their presence all the more because of it.She expressed her admiration for the solidarity and the caring she had witnessed and she stressed to maintain that and to hold eachother:" As that is so important".
During loud cheers in honour to HM many had tears in their eyes.

The little girl was cremated only last friday.

No question as to what HM must have been thinking,if anyone,it is she who has the greatest empathy. She is SO admirable, can't say it enough!

What a nice recap of day one,I wonder how warm it was in Brunei ? I'd imagine warmer temperatures are very welcome with the Dutch royals with the cold snap back home!

I do not understand why the parents would tell her about that their family tragedy, so sad that it was but not the moment to share this.

It's around 28-31 °C in Brunei these days! Wonderful compared to our temperatures in Northern Europe..
