Hey CP Sarah just received The Most Esteemed Family Order Laila Utama (D.K.) this morning!!! which gives her the title of "Dato Laila Utama"...I'm not sure if they'd changed the title to "Datin Laila Utama" cos she's a female?!?

I won't be posting the pictures up cos i Know Humera enjoys doing that!

thats very good news Dang Ayah. What is the significance of this honour? I mean who else has it? Is Laila Utama a person or does it have some other meaning? Oh and you can post any pictures you have. I only post pics from infofoto because some of the other members have problems accessing the site. I cant always access it either so everytime I am able to, I post the pics right away.

Well, If I'm not mistaken its the second highest order in Brunei after The Royal Family Order of the crown of Brunei (D.K.M.B). D.K mostly goes to royal family members or people really close to the royal family...and I'm not sure but I think a number of foreign head of states have received D.K too?! And most certainly a number of foreign royalties!!!

Hi there, I don't know to start this, but I just got a news from our local top designer, which happened 2b my designer/tailor as well, and he claimed that he just received a huge amount of material to make a costume, about 120 plus suits ....some to be accented with diamonds, and all that must be ready in 3 months time as brunei expecting another huge royal wedding, diamonds parure, tiara to be ordered from Cartier (seperate arrangement of course)
..... I was told which of the royal family getting married, but I dare not mentioned here as it's not yet announce ( probably I'm the who don't kno that...) but to play safe, I better don't, hence the big question goes to Dang Ayah, probably he got the news as well.
........ can't wait for another bruneian wedding , ok Dang Ayah ..is that true?

I think you might be interested in reading some old posts in the Royalty of Brunei threads because there have been talk about the marriage between Prince Qawi (the son of Prince Mohamed) and Princess Majeedah... People have been talking about it in Brunei right about the same time they were talking about the Crown Prince and then Dk Sarah. But the reason there hasn't been any early big announcements is because this would just be a wedding between royal family members... As oppose to CP Billah and Sarah... because at that time, there were a lot of speculation about who the girl is and CP Billah liked another girl who was not quite approved by his parents! And when, I guess, all these people talking about it around the country became too much, they had to announce the wedding early! Just to ,how to say it, uphold the dignity of the royal family... them being malay,muslims too... its quite indecent to hear all the many versions of the Crown Prince's "quest for a bride". I'm sure that you as a malaysian understand what I'm trying to say...But yea coming back to your question, we'll just wait for the official announcement about Prince Qawi and Princess Majeedah. And also, i've heard that this wedding was supposed to be sooner but they had to postpone it a bit because Prince Qawi's mum, PAIPA Zariah was ill for a while. I'll let some other members answer this question too, there may be others who know better!

P/S: I think it'd be to my comfort to let you know that I'm a "she" hehehe... "Dang" is short for "Dayang" which is the Bruneian word for "miss". And Dang Ayah is a name of a long forgotten Bruneian royalty who lived long ago... she was buried alive because she ran off with a commoner she fancied... hehehe but its not my real name though! Cheers!
