The King of Spain was not at the Easter Celebrations. He will not assist the Royal Wedding in London. Will he go to Rome next Sunday for the beatification of Pope John Paul II ?
The King and the Queen of Belgium are not able to go to the Wedding on 29th AND the Beatification on May 1st.
At their age I think they have to make a choice and take care of their healthiness.

HM the King of Spain will go, alone with TRH the Prince and the Princess of Asturias.
TM the King and the Queen of the Belgians have confirmed they were going to Rome too.

I don't know why the team of the Royal Forums cancelled the thread of the Beatification?

Maybe because it refers to religious matters,
But the celebration was indeed very moving!
And the beatification portrait: I caught two moments looking as if John Paul II was winking!
Has anyone noticed that?

HH the Pope's official visit to Spain: August 18-21, 2011
Pope Benedict XVI will visit Spain in late August, celebrating the youthfulness and vigor of Catholic faith in a country where the Catholic majority often seems to have little or no impact on modern public life.
The primary focus on the pope's trip Aug. 18-21 will be on Catholic youths from around the globe participating in World Youth Day.
Pope Benedict also will meet with Spain's royal family and with Spanish Prime Minister Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. - Source

Why not??? Priests in many countries have abused minor children, who is he to stand in judgement of Albert's pecadillos. Albert entered into these relationships with willing women.

His Holiness deliveres 'Urbi et Orbi' - December 25th, 2011
Pope prays for Syria and Myanmar in Christmas message - CNN.com
Pope Benedict XVI prayed for peace in Syria, reconciliation in Myanmar, and comfort in flood-stricken Thailand and the Philippines in his annual Christmas message "To the City and the World" on Sunday. Addressing a packed St. Peter's Square on a glorious sunny day, the pope pleaded with God to "bring an end to the violence in Syria, where so much blood has already been shed."
The speech, called "Urbi et Orbi" in Latin, came a day after delivering a homily that focused on the "essence" of the holiday rather than the "commercial celebration" it has become.

The Urbi et Orbi (English: to the city and the world) message was broadcast around the world in 65 languages.
At Christmas Mass on Saturday, the pontiff attacked the commercialisation of the Christian festival. He urged worshippers to "see through the superficial glitter".

I was sad to see the Pope looking so tired.... there is so much going on in the world at present .... he must be shouldering several heavy burdens.

That's absolutely right. Let's hope his prayers will be heard.
