I think in the end, there's no point in dwelling on such things. If the Malaysian, or any other Muslim royals, say they're descended from the Prophet, then I think one should just take their word for it. Because there's no absolute way of proving it wrong or right. Family trees can be faked or contaminated. But who is to know for sure. The Jordanian Hashemite dynasty, for example, has a strong historical claim which is quite legitimate. I remember reading about it in my Islamic history class. |

It has been announced here that HM Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and HM Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha of Brunei will begin 4 day State Visit to Malaysia starting tomorrow. Here is the full news courtesy of Bernama.
Sultan Of Brunei On Four-day State Visit To Malaysia KUALA LUMPUR, April 25 (Bernama) -- The Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei will make a four-day state visit to Malaysia beginning Wednesday. A Wisma Putra statement here says that the visit is at the invitation of Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Syed Putra Jamalullail in reciprocating the King's visit to Brunei in August 2002. The visit is expected to further strengthen bilateral cooperation and enhance the close relations shared by the two countries. Sultan Hassanal will be accompanied by his wife, Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha. He will be accorded a state welcome at Parliament Square and will attend a state banquet at Istana Negara on Thursday. Among the places that he will visit are the Multimedia University in Cyberjaya, Terendak Camp in Melaka and the National Service Training Camp in Semenyih. The sultan, whose last state visit here was in August 1997, will also meet Brunei students studying in Malaysia. -- BERNAMA |

Here are some old pictures of Queen Elizabeth II's State Visit to Malaysia in 1998 during the reign of King Tuanku Jaafar. This visit was also in conjunction with the Kuala Lumpur 16th Commonwealth Games at that time. Truly miss these good old days....for the first time I watched the Queen live on Malaysian national tv
