Press release from the Church of Sweden
Pope Francis will visit Lund in Sweden on 31 October 2016. This historic visit will take place because Catholics and Lutherans will together commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. It will be the first papal visit to Sweden since John Paul II was here in 1989.

How much fun that had to be for His Holiness to spend time among clowns. Too many times his meetings with various people are over what is so wrong with this world and its problems. Clowns bring joy and fun and smiles with them and makes life brighter.

I know that I have criticized him several times, but he has said some very important things in recent months who I really agree with, and therefore I've started to like him more and more.

Meeting of Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis

There will be another important event in Cuba. Because of the intersection of the itineraries of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and Pope Francis of Rome, who will be on a visit to Mexico in the same days, it has been decided to hold a meeting between the heads of the Roman Catholic Church and the Russian Orthodox Church on the Freedom Island on February 12. The meeting will take place at Havana’s international airport.

The meeting of the Primates of the Russian Orthodox Church and the Roman Catholic Church has been in preparation for a long time. Throughout the years 1996-97, intensive negotiations were held on the arrangement of a meeting between His Holiness Patriarch Alexy II and Pope John Paul II to be held in Austria, but these negotiations were stopped because of the problems on which the agreement failed. In the first place, it concerned the actions of the Greek Catholics in Ukraine and proselytism of Catholic missionaries in the canonical territory of the Moscow Patriarchate. At the same time, the Supreme Authority of the Russian Orthodox Church has never rejected a possibility itself for such a meeting in the future when the necessary conditions for holding it will be in place.

Joint Declaration

of Pope Francis

and Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God the Father and the fellowship of the holy Spirit be with all of you” (2 Cor 13:13).

By God the Father’s will, from which all gifts come, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the help of the Holy Spirit Consolator, we, Pope Francis and Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, have met today in Havana. We give thanks to God, glorified in the Trinity, for this meeting, the first in history.
It is with joy that we have met like brothers in the Christian faith who encounter one another “to speak face to face” (2 Jn 12), from heart to heart, to discuss the mutual relations between the Churches, the crucial problems of our faithful, and the outlook for the progress of human civilization.

Our fraternal meeting has taken place in Cuba, at the crossroads of North and South, East and West. It is from this island, the symbol of the hopes of the “New World” and the dramatic events of the history of the twentieth century, that we address our words to all the peoples of Latin America and of the other continents.

The first time in history? The pope has met with the Patriarch of Moscow before...in fact the current patriarch was at Pope Francis's installation...and previous popes have met with other patriarchs as well.

In the Pope Francis's installation was not present the Russian patriarch. He was represented by Hilarion (Alfeyev), Department for External Church Relations of Moscow Partriarch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Papal_inauguration_of_Pope_Francis

Do you get confused with meetings of the popes with other Orthodox leaders?

I am not sure if Reuters is accurate. Patriarchs of Moscow never attended Popes' installations.

According to Pope Meeting Patriarch Of Russian Orthodox Church - First Meeting Since Split | The Daily Caller
While this is the first ever official meeting between a Pope and a Russian Patriarch, Pope John Paul I met informally with a high level Russian Orthodox Bishop in 1978 states Spanish daily El Pais. During the meeting between Pope John Paul I and Russian Orthodox Archbishop Nikodem, the Archbishop suddenly died.

We all know secular news sources can be wrong about religious issues.

https://www.apostolicpilgrimage.org/meetings-of-popes-patriarchs is an overview of multiple meetings between Ecumenical Patriarchs and Popes.
To the best of my limited knowledge, Patriarchs of Moscow never showed any enthusiasm to meet with Popes as their conditions for such meetings were very rigid.

The meeting will come as representatives of Orthodox churches from around the world are preparing for a pan-Orthodox Council meeting in Crete in June. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, spiritual leader of Orthodox Christians, "naturally, has been informed" of plans for the pope and Patriarch Kirill to meet and expressed "his joy for this step forward," Father Lombardi said.
Holding a simple meeting with a Moscow patriarch, spiritual leader of the world's largest Orthodox church, was a failed dream of St. John Paul II and an opportunity that escaped retired Pope Benedict XVI as well.
