There will be a second official mourning period from 1 to 7 February 2013 in honour of the deceased King Father Norodom Sihanouk. The Royal Cremation will take place on Monday 4 February 2013 next week.
The Royal Funeral procession for King Father Norodom Sihanouk will take place tomorrow and the Royal Cremation on Monday. Several foreign dignitaries including Prince Akishino of Japan will attend. 412 prisoners will be pardoned and released at the cremation site.

The final journey of the mortal remains of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk from the Royal Palace to Veal Preah Meru Square took place in Phnom Penh this morning. Veal Preah Meru Square is the site for the Royal Cremation Ceremony which will take place this Monday.
Queen Mother Norodom Monineath and King Norodom Sihamoni followed the cortege in the procession. Princess Norodom Buhpa Devi and other members of the Royal Family were also seen participating in the Royal funeral march.
Queen Mother Norodom Monineath and King Norodom Sihamoni made final homage to the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk ahead of the cremation which will begin today Monday 4 February 2013 at 0900 GMT. Foreign guests who will be attending the Royal Cremation Ceremony have also started arriving in Phnom Penh.

Foreign guests including Prince Akishino of Japan are now paying their final homage at the ongoing Royal Cremation Ceremony of King Father Norodom Sihanouk at Veal Preah Meru, Phnom Penh. The ceremony is now waiting for the lighting of the pyre on sunset.
King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath will now lead the lighting of the funeral pyre for this Royal Cremation Ceremony. They begin by reciting the final prayers for the most beloved King Father Norodom Sihanouk. This was serenaded by religious chants and followed by the firing of 101 gun salutes and fireworks at the cremation site.
King Norodom Sihamoni and Queen Mother Norodom Monineath greeted and presented gifts to all the foreign dignitaries and diplomats who attended the Royal Cremation Ceremony as they departed.
King Norodom Sihamoni is addressing the funeral attendees. His Majesty has consented to release 412 prisoners at the end of this ceremony.
The ashes will be washed. After being dried for a few days, the ashes will be divided into two parts - one part will be dropped at the confluence of Mekong River and Tonle Sap River, while the other part will be placed in a Royal Golden Urn to be laid at the Throne Room and later moved to a stupa after the place is ready.
The second mourning period ended on 7 February 2013 and in the procession of the bones yesterday the remains of the late King Father Norodom Sihanouk were moved from Veal Preah Meru to the Royal Palace.
