My Lord, she is one of the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She seems to carry the same serenity as Grace Kelly. I look forward to seeing her as Queen.

Behind the mist wall - Hindustan Times
Last year heads had turned when a tall, slim and elegant woman turned up at the Mountain Echoes literary festival in Thimphu, Bhutan.
When the Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck (a writer who is also the festival’s patron), escorted this young woman to the front row, necks craned further: who was this woman? Was it true that she was going to be the next queen of Bhutan?
Last week, 31-year-old King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangyal announced his engagement to the striking Jetsun Pema while inaugurating his country’s Parliament session.
Later, the royal couple made their first official appearance at the inauguration of Mountain Echoes at India House, holding hands, posing for photographs, stealing glances and smiles. Every Bhutanese I congratulated beamed with pride as if it was a family wedding.
At newspaper offices the next morning, irritated readers wanted to know why extra copies hadn’t been printed in anticipation of the huge demand for the first royal portrait. This is, after all, a country where hip teenagers sport buttons of the king’s image on their shirts. “For us Bhutanese, it’s a profound moment that symbolises continuity,” said a journalist.

The Moment: Bhutan's Queen Mother on Elvis, Buddhism - WSJ.com
Queen Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck is a real conservationist when it comes to her country's Himalayan culture and Buddhist heritage. But she is also well-traveled, a literary enthusiast and loves Elvis Presley.
Queen Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck is one of four sisters who married Jigme Singye Wangchuck, Bhutan's former king, who abdicated in favor of his eldest son a few years ago.
Today, the queen mother, a youthful 55-year old, embodies her country's efforts to reap the benefits of modernity while protecting its traditions.

Few tips about the future royal wedding

HM the King has stated that Ashi (Princess) Jetsun Pema will be his only wife thus having broken the tradition of Bhutanese kings marrying several wives. The King is intended to be monogamic.
The Bhutanese and Thai papers are stating that Ashi Jetsun Pema is not a commoner (as was stated by Western press previously) but is of royal blood, naming her 'daughter of airline pilot and aristocrat'.

The change ushered in voting, a free press and a new constitution, with powers devolved to parliament and the cabinet while the king stepped back to serve as a symbolic head of state.
The royal family remains enormously popular and respected, and the country is currently busy preparing for the marriage of the current monarch, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck.

AFP: Bhutan gets royal wedding fever
The royal dress weavers are at work and excitement is building in Bhutan ahead of next month's royal wedding that will see the young king of the Himalayan nation wed in a fairy-tale ceremony.[...]
Organisers have promised a low-key affair from a royal family that is famed for its common touch, but the Bhutanese are gearing up to mark a momentous occasion in the life of the reclusive kingdom between China and India.
In their apartment in the capital Thimphu, weavers Kelzang Choden and her mother are hurriedly working on an outfit for the future queen, an intricately patterned dress of geometric shapes dominated by gold thread and yellow.
"She will wear according to her element. There are five elements in our culture. For example, red is fire and earth is yellow," Choden explained to AFP. "Her element is earth so it will probably be mostly yellow."

I'm sorry if this has been asked before or if have simply overlooked it, but have they already set an exact date for the wedding? I read somewhere that the wedding will be in October, but I haven't found further information.

Edit: I have overlooked it of course. :D October 13. I'm really looking forward to that day.
