Princess Marie Astrid named a ship on 25.April.1993
It is a tradition in Luxembourg that a luxury ship is named after Princess Marie Astrid, the "MS Princesse Marie Astrid". She did it first in 1966 at age of twelve, than a second time, a third time in 1993 and a fourth time in 2000. Here are the photos of the name of the ship ceremony on 25.April.1993. (Unfortunately I never found images from the other ceremonies of 1966 or 2000:( !) Last edited by drimal; 10-28-2004 at 04:58 AM. |

Excellent photos. Marie-Astrid is one probably the most underrated royal beauty out there. And Marie-Christine is already quite the lovely young woman as well. And the rest of the children are adorable too. Apples that didn´t fall far from the tree as it were.

Some photos of the "MS Princesse Marie Astrid"
The actual MS Princesse Marie Astrid IV of March 2000 has a length of 60 meters (1,9685 feet) and a width of 11,20 meters (0,3675 feet). It has the gloss of a 5 stars hotel with marble floor and marble stairs, mirror ceiling, exclusive lamps,Italian tiles on the upper deck and a kitchen of high-grade steel. It has a capacity of 500 passengers and travels all the way of the (Luxembourgish) Mosel. As these pictures show, Princess Marie Astrid can be very proud of the ship named after her.
