For all of you interesting in the royal house of Austria, I have found this interesting link of the history of the Emperors of Austria:http://www.newgotha.org/part1/ausgen.htm

Here is the most interesting passage considering Princess Marie Astrid's husband Archduke Carl-Christian of Austria:

Archduke Carl Christian Maria Anna Rudolph Anton Markus d'Aviano, b at Château de Beloeil 26 Aug 1954, admission into Belgian nobility with title of Prince of Habsburg-Lorraine by Belgian Royal Decree for himself and his descendants with the qualification of Serene Highness, 19 Aug 1983; Kt Order of the Golden Fleece, Kt Order of Lion of Nassau, Bank Dir; m at Luxemburg 6 Feb 1982, Princess Marie Astrid (b at Château Betzdorf 17 Feb 1954), dau of Jean, Grand Duke of Luxemburg and Princess Josephine Charlotte of Belgium, and has issue. (2 Chemin des Cabris, 1254 Jussy, Switzerland).
(1). Archduchess Marie Christine Anne Astrid Zita Charlotte, b at Brussels 31 Jul 1983.
(2). Archduke Imre Emmanuel Simeon Jean Carl Marcus d'Aviano, b at Geneva 8 Dec 1985.

<SPAN style="mso-bidi-font-size: 10.0pt"><FONT size=2>(3). Archduke Christoph Henri Alexander Maria Marcus d'Aviano, b at Geneva 2 Feb 1988.

House Habsburg-Lothringen

I have also found an interesting link about Habsburg-Lothringen (remember Carl-Christian's title is also of Habsburg-Lothringen ):
http://www.hapsburg.com/about.htm

I have copy-pasted from the site the most interesting passage of where the name Habsburg comes from:) :

HAPSBURG NOMENCLATURE

Then name Hapsburg has many variations: Hapsburgh, Habsburg, Habisburch etc. Since the family has been in existence for half a millenium such variations in spelling are expected (as language evolves and changes through time and geography). Origination from a castle named 'Habichtsburg' built by Bishop Wener of Strasbourg (which is located on the Aar river in present day Switzerland), in 1020 C.E., the name translated from medieval German literally means 'Hawk's Castle.'

Today, the Austrian descendants, and most of the academic community, use the 'Habsburg' spelling. I've opted for the 'Hapsburg' variation, one that was in vogue pre-1980 when much of the focus was on the Spanish branch of the family, for practical reasons, namely that the domain hapsburg was available and habsburg was not. For the purposes of this project the actual spelling of the name is secondary in importance and should not hinder the reader's understanding of the facts or arguments

All these names confuse me. There was way too much inbreeding.

Excellent, thank you drimal! :) That's interesting that Carl Christian and his descendants are styled Serene Highnesses, rather than Imperial&Royal Highnesses...

Hmm... the mystery deepens - I had a look in my Almanach de Gotha and it says that members of the imperial family are styled Imperial&Royal Highnesses... Could Carl Christian have the authority to adopt a different style, if he felt it was more appropriate?

Wait - I had another look at drimal's post and I realised it says Carl Christian was admitted into the Belgian nobility with the title Prince of Habsburg-Lorraine and the qualification of HSH. So, presumably this was allowed because of Luxembourg's (and I guess, Austria's) links with Belgium. I wonder why he adopted this style, when one would consider HI&RH to be superior to HSH.

I'm pretty sure most royals have really good health coverage. Their coverage is probably just as good as celebrities and politicans.

I must agree that the tan is a little too dark and looks really fake.

mt should never do that to herself again. if it's fake, she needs to dump the spray or whatever. if it's real, she doesn't need to sit out in the sun too long b/c it's very dangerous.
