It's quite rare that a royal person have the right to both styles - in Denmark the princes and princesses of the blood (those born in the royal family) are styled 'til Danmark' = 'to Denmark', while the princes and princesses by marriage are styled 'af Danmark' = 'of Denmark'... This is also a way to see whom in the royal family are heris to the dansih throne...

When Caroline of Hannover calls herself 'de' it's simply because it's the frensh way of sayng 'of'. She is princess OF Hannover...

Princess Margaretha and Prince Nicolaus gave a short interview to VTM's 'Royalty'. Follow this link and click on the link under 25 maart 2007 which is called 'bekijk deel 2'. The interview starts after 12.33 minutes.

In the interview they talk about their son Leopold, about the close relationship between Margaretha and Baudouin & Fabiola and about their marriage. Nicolaus remarked that these 25 years were a present.

According to the presenter the couple will celebrate their silver wedding twicce. Once in Vienna for his family and once in Brussels for her family.

When exactly are the 2 parties? Probably one is this weekend. I wonder why the two families don't come together for one celebration.

Erik VdV says (on the Benelux Royals MB) the cause of death of little Leopold Emanuel is:

"He was born prematurely and suffered from brain system defience (hope this is the exact word in English)."

I hope he (or someone else) can explain this (maybe in Dutch), because I don't understand it. It's something with his brain, but I don't know what...

Thanks in advance!

"Brain system deficiency" might mean anencephaly [which is not common, but is a leading cause of death in newborns due to brain dysfunction].

That would be my guess anyway. How sad.

Does anyone know the eyes' colour of Maria Anunciata? According to this pic, it seems to be brown or hazel

I just happen to stumble across the this thread. I didn't think there would be two; Luxemberg and Liechtenstein. Doesn't bother me any, now I know where to look.

What do you mean with 'there are two'? Is there a thread about this family in the Liechtenstein subforum too?

Hi Marengo. Yes, there are a couple in the Liechtenstein forum. I've always looked there since she married a prince of that country.
