Red face Prince Jean and Family, News and Events (June 2003 - )

His mother is a countess, but is his father, Hayo Willms, a commoner? Does that man that Antonius doesn't have a title?

Antonius indeed has not a title.

Princess Marie-Gabrielle, daughter of Prince Jean and thus niece of Grand Duke Henri, and her future husband Antonius Willms have chosen Luxembourg as the place for their civil wedding. The city of Luxembourg published the official publication du mariage today. The notice of intended marriage is commonly published ten days prior to the wedding day meaning that the couple will tie the knot on Saturday, April 1. The couple will have their religious wedding in Spain later this year.

Princess Marie-Gabrielle de Nassau and Antonius Willms gave an interview to this week's magazine "Point de Vue".
After a civil wedding in Luxembourg on May 15, the couple will unite religiously on September 2, 2017 in Marbella (Spain).

interesting to see such a time gap between the civil and the religious services, as usually in the lux family they take place one followed by the other one...

Diane is not welcome to the Lux Grand Ducal family Events who continued to invite Mrs Hélène Vestur.
She did not attend the Grand Duke 90th Birthday and Prince ean did not look that happy!

What is wrong with Diana, the daughter of General Claude Gaston de Guerre and of Eugénie Maria Mechtildis Huberta Theodora Thaddaeus gravin Wolff Metternich?

Diane's brother Thibaut de Guerre is married with Anastasia gravin de Marchant et d’Ansembourg and lives at the beautiful Hillenraedt Castle near Roermond (Limburg, the Netherlands): picture.

Diana's sister Valérie is married with Thomas graaf de Marchant et d'Ansembourg, one of the best private friends of King Philippe of the Belgians. They live at the beautiful Château d'Assenois in the Belgian province of Luxembourg: picture.

The Court grand-ducal could hardly have asked for a more "befitting" partner for a third child of the previous Grand-Duke! It is a mystery why Diane is a persona-non-grata.

I suspect the divorce may have been difficult for some in the family to stomach. Diane was present at the wedding of HGD Guillaume though.

Well, Helene is and always will be, the mother of Marie-Gabrielle, so she had right to be at her wedding.

Duke , We know your wiki explanation.
The relationship of Prince Jean and his family was always difficult for different reasons.
His daughter's wedding was nice and the whole family attending was fine when we compare his own 2 weddings .

Maybe Countess Diane opted out to avoid a potentially awkward mother and stepmother situation. As mother of the bride, Hélène Vestur, would obviously attend.

Ok, Diane didn't attend GD Jean's 90th birthday but she attended his 95th birthday. Perhaps acceptance is slow or the GDF family knows Hélène Vestur much better and longer than Diane, so Hélène gets more invites. Diane is on good enough terms with Princess Sibilla to borrow her tiara for HGD Guillaume’s pre-wedding gala.

Tssk... tssk... No need to be "assertive". It was you who mentioned the absence of Diane. And as a reaction I expressed my confusion because at first sight, the lady seems to be a perfect choice who could seamlessly integrate in the milieu of her new family, so why is she persona non grata? But I see that, apart from being "assertive" you have no idea at all. Yes. "Different reasons". Of course. That is just kicking in a door already wide open.

So, Jean and Diane's marriage is OK.
It’s the relation between Diane and family that is bit strained. To bad.

They are not bad nowadays . Mrs Hélène Vestur is still invited also.
But for this Wedding no show up of the stepmother what is normal.

They are a lot of weddings to come in the GD royal familly . No engagement for the Liechtenstein Children.

Out-of-wedlock son of Prince Constantin?

Hein Bruins on his page writes that the eldest son of Prince Jean & helene Vestur. Prince Constantin, who will turn 30 on 22 July became a father this year of a boy named Felix; the baby's mother's name is Kathryn Mechie.

Source: Descendants of Duke Wilhelm of Nassau

Could someone verify this?
