Grand Duke Henri and Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume are in Hesse on the occasion of the 200th year celebrations of the Duchy Nassau.

The have inaugurated the "200 Jahre Herzogtum Nassau" (200 years of Duchy Nasau) exhibtion from the casino society of Wiesbaden yesterday. The exhibition is showing the creation period of Duchy Nassau 200 years ago under Napoleon, the history of the Enlightenment and the French Revolution up to the origin of the early Nassau Wiesbaden and itinfluence in the "Rheingau" (translation?). The relationship of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg with Hesse are basing on the common history of Nassau. When Grand Duke Wilhelm III (or Guillaume III )died on 23th November 1890 -as Oranian also the king of the Netherlands- the crown was going to Duke Adolphe of Nassau following article 3 of the Luxembourgian constitution.
Today there is a visit in the hunting lodge Platte planed. The site manager will give further details about the restauration of the building which has been destroyed during World War II. The sight-seeing will be followed by laying down of flowers on the tomb of the first wife of Grand Duke Adolphe - in the Russian-orthodox church.
In the evening there will be another great exhibition in Budapest with the presence of the Hungarian president lazlo Solyom and over 100 honour guests dedicated to Sigismund of Luxembourg. The same exhibition will be opened for public in the national history - and culture museum in Luxembourg. There will be more details in the Monday edition of the "Luxemburger Wort".

Let's add that Grand Duchess Maria Teresa isn't accompanying her husband and her son due to familar reasons (I guess the birth of Louis' son ).

There are 2 pics of the visit in my newspaper but unfortunately my scanner is broken and therefore I had to take them from the e-paper in a rather bad quality. :(

The first time I saw Guillaume with a beard about a year or two years ago, it reminded me of CP Haakon of Norway. In the latter's case, he looked much better with a beard. I think with Guillaume, it's just a matter of getting used to.

It does sort of remind me of Haakon. I think that Guillaume looks good in the beard, as long as it is a full beard and not that weird pencil-thin beard that he had a while ago. With his full beard I think he looks older, and to me he looks more like Nikolas of Greece.

I think the reason it's hard to get used to is because one month we'll see him clean cut and shaven. And then there will be a gap of time before the next pic and all of a sudden there's a good amount of facial hair.

I just picked up an old magazine, and it had that picture where H poses with his sons. Guillaume looks totally different in it, unrecognisable from his look now - thinner, leaner, younger, less hair... MT too has changed, but then again, change is her middle name. It's interesting that H has always, always looked exactly the same. A little more wrinkled now than 30 years ago, but still, the same. Why

His style really hasn't changed, thats why. MT got highlights. Guillaume got weight and a beard. Jean is sorta like that too.

Guillaume has gained some weight ... but I dont think it makes him any less attractive. His still looks as handsome as ever...
