Grand Duke Jean was present at a photoshoot on the occassion of the engagement of his granddaughter ADss. Marie-Christine of Austria to Count Rodolphe of Limburg-Stirum. Look here for the pictures.

As I noted in that thread, GD Jean is looking very frail.

HRH Grand Duke Jean ( 87) had a total hip replacement (right side) at the St.Jan Clinic,Brussels,
as was announced by the Grand Ducal Court today.
The operation was a succes and the patient is doing well.
Hoping for a speedy recovery.

In Niederfeulen sports center, the Grand Duke Jean attended the presentation of the souvenir-book (not sure if I translated that correctly) as part of the commemoration of 125th anniversary of the founding of the National Federation of Firefighters.

Good to see GD Jean up and about. He seems to be doing well. Being active, not just staying cooped up in that palace, should be good for him.
