It was often said after her death that she was not so cold and without emotions as many people thinks. She was very shy and usually didn't make much statements but I have seen a report about her on China State visit and she said that she was very impressed by that visit especially by the thousands of little historical soldiers. I try to find pics about that state visit in China because it was a remarkable moment for her.:)
I don't believe that she had such a bad relationship to Maria Teresa that many thinks. Certainly they had some difficulties in certain points because josephine-Charlotte was grown up as "une fille du roi" (daughter of the king) and had a very conservative point of view and thus prefered a royal wife for her son than a commoner but despite all this she loved her whole family and was always pleased to gather the whole family together.
A picture which underlines my statement is the family picture of January 1996 (GD Jean's 75th anniversary) and you see on such pictures a very happy mother and grandmother.:)
And I admire such persons who say: My family is the most important thing in my life.:o
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa said in an interview: " If one of my children is ill, I won't leave him for any function or visit in the world.":)
