I love how the end of her dress (the trim?) matches the sashes the Grand Duchal couple wear.

Which language do they speak in Luxemburg? I have thought they speak German, because of the land name Luxemburg. But then they call their earlier dukes Guillaume, not William, as it should be in German. And the members of the ducal family have mostly French names, too, not German. Or do they have two official languages there?

They have their own language, luxemburgese (I know I spelt that wrong!) which is like french and german mixed. I believe they also speak german and french there as well.

QUESTION TO KYLIE18: Where did you got that photo? Alexandra has grown a lot, the same for Louis and Felix. Guillaume and Sebastien are still the same.
For second time, please tell me where did u got that photo

It is a German dialect called Letzelburgisch. I saw it one of the websites. It is possible though that some French words might be integrated.. To me whose first language it looked more German than French..I was able to understand most of it..

William is English, Wilhelm is more germanic.

I once read on a website that government documents and road signs are in French. I have read that the Luxembourgish (Letzeburgish) language is more like French, but I may be wrong. Also most newspapers are in French, but they also have newspapers that are in English too. Many of the people who live in Luxembourg are immigrants and Luxembourgish is not a well-known language so many of the people speak French. I have looked for books at a few stores on how to speak Luxembourgish, but as of now I have been unsuccessful. I think that it is becoming sort of a forgotten language.
