It has been reported that Crown Princess Masako is highly unlikely to join the Imperial family during Spanish state visit.

Perhaps the sort of formality that necessarily accompanies any events involving the Emperor and Empress makes them too stressful for her right now. I hope that will will see Masako in a tiara again one day.

You are probably right. Crown Princess Masako and Crown Prince Naruhito gave a private dinner for British Crown Princely couple. That was a semi-official engagement carried out in the comforts of Japanese Crown Princely couple's house, which eased the level of stress for Crown Prince Masako. The same does not apply to the Spanish State visit, which is expected to be formal.

The Welcoming Ceremony has been taking place, and really surprising, Crown Princess Masako was attending it!I believe this is the very first time in for quite so long years since she last attended an event as such.

It is nice to see that Crown Princess Masako participated in the welcome ceremony alongside the Imperial family. An emerald-colour suit enhanced her complexion.

Queen Sofia looks great. And nice that she choose the rarely seen fleur-de-lys tiara.

Queen Sofia looked radiant in a red gala, which seems to be her favourite colour during this visit, with colourful shawl. Empress Michiko is elegant as usual.
