She lived in a rented apartment when she got married with Yoshiki Kuroda. This is the new apartment that she has been waited for the renovations to be finished during this period.

I assume that by entourage, they mean security for Sayako? Does she need it, now that she's a commoner, or is granted it as a now "extended" member of the royal family?

That's so sweet. It's nice to see that although she's no longer a part of the royal house that the press still checks up on her from time to time and are pretty respectful about it. It seems like she's adjusting just fine.

I read somewhere that the IHA will provide security for the first few months after her marriage, but I can't recall for how long. If you ask me, even if she's now a "commoner", she is still the daughter of the Emperor and nothing will change that.... and that she should have protection (but then I'm not the IHA ).

It's sure nice to see her adjusting to her new life well. Thanks for the link to the article, laduchesse.

It's probably also a way for the royal family to keep up with her, too, especially if they don't get to see her often. I'm sure her mother must have worried about her.
