Sayako's happiness ahead of wedding

28 OCTOBER 2005
With weeks to go before the wedding of Japan's Princess Sayako, the country's royal family have been stepping out in style for their annual autumn garden party. There was no mistaking the happiness surrounding the event as the ladies of the royal household were also sporting cheerful smiles along with their elegant kimonos.

Thirty-five-year-old Sayako, who is set to marry on November 15, looked the picture of contentment as she followed her parents, Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko, out into the lush gardens of Tokyo's Imperial Palace.

Thank you for the photos! :) I really love the kimono she is wearing...traditional and very elegant!

Princess learns to be 'ordinary' for her new life
thx for the article is make for a nice read and i got a good laugh from it as well. i esp. like the question the princess ask a friend of how do u get the food home from the supermarket or was it who carry's the food home from the supermaket. anycase, i hope she can make a smooth change.

Kei, Princes Sayako after her marriage ,can she? visited her parent ''easily '' as commoner? I now that Princess Masako after her marriage with Prince Naruhito, very difficult getting contact with her parents.
With telephone calls and visited her Parents. She must few months before ask permission for appointment, also her parents ''Family Owada''

A book is going to be released by the Imperial Household Agency in the beginning of November featuring Princess Sayako. This book includes photos of her with her past birthday interviews and her waka poems.

hi, ropura. Excuse me, but I cannot compare simply two princesses' case about the contact with their parents! princess Sayako's parents are the Emperor and the Empresses. but princess Masako's parents are the commoner. I cannot compare them! so, two princesses are different princesses with a different Japanese title.

Thanks for these photos, mandyy !

This is quite unexpected from the newlyweds to make public / media appearance, but i'm glad they did. the people would not want their 'princess' to dissapear, right?
only i had hoped they would show affection more, just simple things, like holding hands, etc. they seem like sweet couple and i hope for happy marriage!

I add couple more from polfoto :
Polfoto 23-11-2005 Newly wed couple, Mr. Yoshiki Kuroda, left, and Mrs. Sayako Kuroda who is a former princess Sayako, only daughter of Emperor and Empress, visit Shinjuku Gyoen, Tokyo on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005.

Oh they look so fresh and "genki'!!^^

The princess is very elegant and graceful.

They way they all wear black is wonderful!!

Strolling among the roses in a central Tokyo park, Sayako and Yoshiki Kuroda look like any Japanese newlyweds enjoying the early days of their marriage. But for the former princess life could not be further removed from the cloistered world she knew up until her wedding a week ago...
